The Front Desk
Ahead of me was the front desk, a woman sat behind it and smiled at my approach, to her left leaned up against the wall was a much more stern-looking woman in a security guard outfit that consisted of a blue blazer, white shirt and black tie, and an accompanying dark blue pencil skirt. The secretary looked up at me as I reached the desk. I pulled a small piece of card from my briefcase and presented it to her.
"Good morning ladies, I have a job interview here, this is my appointment card." I said cheerfully, wanting to make a good first impression.
The security lady chimed in. "Hur-umph, that's not good enough, we'll need-" She was cut off by the secretary.
"Oh shut it! Certainly, Sir, elevators are that way." She pointed over her left shoulder.
I thanked her and began walking in the direction she pointed.
*Sigh* The secretary stared at me as I left. "Y'know , you gotta be the luckiest woman on Earth to be married to a man like that!"
"You are such a slacker. Just wait, one day I'm gonna be the one in charge around here."
