The Final Glitch

"So, the production company that have been running the show up until now have pretty much allowed us free reign to do whatever we want. If we sign this deal, there are a few demands we will have to adhere to" Lucy explained.

"Like what?" Sophie called out. She was sat on the table in front of Abi like a sexy little mascot.

"So April, if you want to be a part of this you will need to move into the mansion full time. No more going home to sleep and shower away from the cameras. Is that okay with you?"

"Two million quid per annum to live with my friends? Of course it is okay. I'll just have to figure out a way of showering in my bathing suit I suppose. And there are blind spots from the cameras to undress in when I need to"

Lucy stopped short of mentioning the TV companies strong preference for April to get naked on camera since it hadn't been a complete dealbreaker, but it felt like something that was going to keep coming up until she did.

"Awesome. You will need to find someone to room with now you are living here rather than visiting"

"How about Lily"

"Lily?" Lucy asked in confusion.

"She means me" Lexie raised her hand "And I'd be honoured to room with you April. I've loved sharing with Cass and Barbs, but they need their alone time again"

"Come visit us whenever you went Lex!" Barbie called out.

"On the subject of roommates, they are going to be set in stone from tomorrow" Lucy added "No more chopping and changing. There have been complaints that viewers have bought an access pass for their favourite glitches room only to see them move elsewhere. That kind of thing won't stand anymore."

"Seems fair" Julianne shrugged.

"And there will be no more glitches" Lucy continued "They are paying us each a fortune, so we can't just keep adding anyone we make friends with. The final number will be capped at 22"

"That seems more than enough of us to go around" Abi shrugged.

"Wait, 22?" Sophie chimed in again as Abi played with her hair as if she were an actual doll "Even with Tania, I only count 21"

"That's the final thing I need to talk to you all about" Lucy sighed "The TV company have handpicked a final glitch to join us here, permanently"

"What?!" Cassie called out "We have never had anyone join the glitches who we haven't all agreed on first, let alone someone none of us have even met!"

"I know, and I tried to push back on it, but it's another dealbreaker, just like Tania"

"Is it even fair bringing in someone new now? Right into the start of a war with an evil witch?" Julianne noted with concern.

"I don't like it either, but like I said my hands are tied" Lucy replied "We bring her in or the deal is off"

"It's fine, I'll look out for her" Noelle promised.

"So who is she? Do we know anything about her?" Jenny asked.

"All I know is she is a Tik Tok influencer from the US. I think she does Youtube streaming as well, and is some kind of gamer girl. She is apparently quite popular already, but the station think she has the potential to be a superstar"

"God, I hate her already" Lexie folded her arms and exhaled.

"Let's all be nice to her when she arrives please. She will be flying in tomorrow if I give Van the nod on the deal" Lucy responded "Anna, I'm sorry to do this, but I think you will have to be the one to room with her. We are all supposed to be in pairs not triples now, and I'm assuming Laura and Liv won't want to be split up"

"I wouldn't be so sure about that" Liv joked darkly as she looked across at Laura, who had tuned out of the conversation and was happily stroking the fur on Maggie's back.

"Great, potion testing tonight, a Tik Tok gamer girl from tomorrow onwards. I'm not sure which is worse" Anna sulked.

"Okay, then if nobody has any objections I will go and tell Van the deal is on. But please be sure about this - there won't be any turning back from this point. We are all going to be properly famous, and that is life changing in more ways than one. Literally millions of people around the world will see us naked and know whatever we are doing on a daily basis. So if anyone isn't up for that, now is the time to say"

"Are you sure you're okay with this?" James nudged Mel "This isn't exactly going to be normalcy"

"I'm not going to spoil this opportunity for everyone. I'll be fine" Mel assured him "And four million a year between us both? Just think what we will be able to do with that long term"
