The Ebony Empire
While Metropolis still hummed with the energy of Claire’s ecstasy, the night in Gotham was a cloak of black velvet and damp secrets.
Brianna, now clad in Batman’s matte-black tactical leather armor, moved through the shadows with predatory grace. The heavy cape billowed behind her like a demon’s wing, and the cowl molded to her face, lending her an air of severity and mystery. To the world, she was the Dark Knight; to Michael, she was his private detective—the perfect tool to map every inch of the city and report which members of Gotham’s elite deserved to be "tamed."

Her target for the night was Odette.
Odette—the female counterpart to the Penguin—was no mere criminal; she was an underworld empress, a woman of icy ambition and extravagant tastes. She ruled the Iceberg Lounge with an iron fist and an umbrella that concealed lethal blades and shock devices. Odette was notorious for her arrogance and for treating everyone around her like disposable servants.

Brianna slid through a ventilation duct, dropping silently into Odette’s private office. The room was opulent: bearskin rugs, bottles of cognac worth a fortune, and amber lighting that highlighted the hostess's pale skin.
Odette sat at her ebony desk, wearing a black silk dress that hugged her curves with cruel precision, a small fascinator hat tilted over her cunning eyes. She wasn't startled by the intruder. She merely smiled, twirling her umbrella between her fingers.
"So, the Dark Knight has decided to pay me a visit?" Odette’s voice was velvety but laced with venom. "I hope you haven't come to make any arrests." Bribery in this city is far more efficient than justice.
Brianna didn't answer with words. She stepped closer—the sound of her tactical boots echoing against the marble—ready to interrogate Odette about her attempts to sabotage Wayne Enterprises.
The impact of the encounter was brutal. The female version of Bane—a mountain of muscle clad in leather and Kevlar, her face partially hidden by a tactical mask pumping a greenish serum into her veins—emerged from the shadows like a human tank. She didn't fight with technique, but with a brute force that would make most men crumble.

With a guttural roar, Bane charged at Brianna. The Gotham detective, however, was the embodiment of agility. She spun in mid-air—her black cape whipping through the room—and landed a precise blow on the giant’s neck. But Bane was relentless; she grabbed Brianna by the ankle mid-leap and hurled her against the ebony wall with the force of a truck.
The crash made Odette’s cognac crystalware tremble. Brianna felt the air leave her lungs, but before she could recover, Bane’s massive shadow loomed over her, poised to crush her into the floor.
"Pathetic," Odette sneered, watching the scene with a glint of contempt in her eyes. "You’re nothing but a broken toy." The impact against the ebony wall left a web of cracks in the concrete. Brianna tasted the metallic tang of blood in her mouth, but her eyes—hidden behind her mask—were already scanning the room. Bane wasn't just brute force; she was a war machine fueled by a serum that clouded reason while amplifying aggression.
Bane roared, an animalistic sound that vibrated through Brianna’s bones. The giant advanced, each step making the marble floor crack. She didn't just want to win; She wanted to hear the sound of the detective’s ribs snapping.
Brianna, catching her breath in a split second, fired a smoking Batarang at Bane’s feet. A thick, dark curtain of smoke instantly filled the office, turning Odette’s opulent space into a disorienting maze.
"Coward!" Bane shouted, lashing out wildly and smashing a crystal side table that shattered into a thousand pieces.
Seizing the chaos, Brianna used the agility gained from her training to scale the shadows toward the ceiling, moving like a specter. She couldn't beat Bane in a contest of raw strength, but she could outmaneuver her. As the giant spun frantically, trying to locate her prey, Brianna fired a steel cable that latched onto the crystal chandelier hanging above Odette.
With a sharp tug, the chandelier came crashing down.
The crash was deafening. Tons of crystal and metal bore down on Bane, pinning her beneath a cascade of broken lights and wrought iron. The giant let out a roar of fury, struggling to lift the structure, but the impact left her dazed for precious seconds.
Odette, who had been watching the scene with an icy smile, suddenly felt a chill run down the back of her neck. She hadn't realized Brianna was no longer on the ceiling.
The detective emerged from the shadows behind her, her black cape wrapping around the crime empress like a raven’s wing. Brianna grabbed her by the collar of her silk dress, pinning her against the wall with a force that made Odette ...lose her voice.
"Wayne Enterprises isn't a target, Odette. It’s Michael’s property," Brianna whispered, her voice icy and devoid of mercy. "And anyone who tries to sabotage his property ends up becoming part of the inventory."
Brianna didn't knock her out. She wanted Odette to feel the fear, the anticipation of punishment. With a swift movement, she neutralized the remaining guards in the room using precise, efficient strikes, turning the office into a scene of defeat.
"Tactical withdrawal," Brianna murmured into her comms, knowing Bane was already beginning to lift the chandelier with a roar of fury.
She didn't leave through the door. Using her grappling hook, Brianna smashed through the office's massive window, leaping into the void of the Gotham night. As she fell, her cape unfurled, transforming into a glider that carried her smoothly between the skyscrapers, leaving behind a trembling Odette and a furious Bane.
Minutes later, Brianna silently entered the Batcave, where Alfreda was waiting for her.
