The Diner

The coffee shop was a bit small she he thought he could probably be heard everywhere. Standing up, he spoke in a loud voice.

“Listen up everyone,” Billy said, and the diner quieted precipitously.

“While I’m here, anything odd that happens in the shop will seem perfectly normal!” he somewhat yelled. The crowd looked at him as though he was nuts. Momentarily the sound returned.

One of the young barista’s came over. She had beautiful brown hair and a worried look on her face.

“When you first greet people today, stick you tongue out and wink first,” he told her.

“What?” the barista asked but did as instructed without noticing anything.

“Keep doing that for a moment,” he continued, she repeated the tongue exercise. Carolyn was looking at him with some disinterest.

After a minute, the Barista asked. “Is everything okay, yelling in the diner is not really allowed,”

“You don’t mind me yelling in the diner,” he returned.

“Well….yeah, no, I guess I don’t mind,” she answered back, heading back to the counter.

“So Carolyn, you know what I think would be fun is for you take that cup of coffee you just purchased and pour it over that young asian woman’s laptop and head.” William said.

“I wouldn't do something like that,” she answered reluctantly, but suddenly knowing it would be fun.
