Chapter 5 by WilltheBoatmaster WilltheBoatmaster

Who was it that had Eve?

The Demonic Setup

That her surroundings were covered in a red haze. Time had stopped and she saw to her side Beckham, the young boy looked just as frozen as the rest of the world. Her hand raised itself, and she came closer, doing her best to touch him. The woman stopped though, worry shot through her body. Eve felt that it'd cause damage to the young lad; how or why, she did not wish to find out. Instead she went forward past the water crates, was the rest of the parish afflicted?

"Hello?" Eve looked around, it seemed to go onwards forever. Had the entire world been stopped, and if so, why was she the only one not afflicted? All actions stood still, stature-like in their own world. Women picked up babies and held them tightly, frisbees flew midair, dogs tugged at owners, but none continued their course. Surreal and very eerie, a tingle went up the nun's spine at all of this. Yet, she continued her movement past everyone. Her fellow sisters were even caught within this strange stagnation.

Each doing their own actions, trapped. Eve went up to Thalia, the youngest member of her fellow parish women, and waved a hand in her face. No reaction, which caused the African-American woman to grimace. The others revealed no reactions as well, just like the rest of the girls. Distress billowed within Eve, was she trapped like this? Slowly, her movements went towards the parish. There, hopefully all would make sense for Eve. It seemed a little brighter, almost the exact color that used to be it. Which, comforted Eve but also left her even more confused. Almost to the front doors, she was about to push inwards until a voice boomed forth.

"Oh, no, no, no. Not there." A sultry, lady's voice echoed. It was both soft, like music to the ears, and harsh, like the stern voice of an angry mother. It made Eve stop and turn around, the worst mistake of her life. There, in the distance like a speck on a window, came a figure. The distance was cut in half by a sudden shimmer, Eve stumbled and looked above her. A woman stood looking down at the sister.

Her skin was a soft white, but her hair was darker than tar. Sunglasses covered her eyes, but Eve swore she could see tiny blasts of energy roll across her face. The woman currently wore a nice purple business suit; no skirt, she looked like the modern idea of a venture capitalist.

"Thank you for stopping, that'd be terrible if you got into there before we could find you. You'd be out of our grasp and we'd have to replan for another sister elsewhere." This strange woman flicked her nail before she continued. "Now then, hello. I am Lilith and you must be Eve Terrance, nice to meet you. A little on the small size, though that's not going to be a problem soon enough."

"Whah?" Eve stumbled with her words. "Did you cause this?"

"Nope, though I am flattered. I used to be able to but a little rusty these days. Honesty is always a vir-" Lilith stopped and gagged she spat a wad of phlegm out. More accurately, she spat out what appeared to be phlegm, instead it was a burning ball of something which made a small crater. Eve looked at that, survival kicked in and she tried to move. A foot put an end to that, a finger wiggled in her face.

"Naughty, naughty. No escape for you." Lilith either weighed more than she appeared or had an unseen **** with her, Eve could not get up. The white shining woman took a notepad from elsewhere, she flicked right through the papers. A hum came from her lips.

"Who do we have? Tiny podunk town needs to be corrupted in six months. Good location; forests. A base can be made here. Sins have not been seen. Hmm." Eve struggled with all her might to push upwards, but could not move the woman. A small grin then crossed Lilith's face. She put the notepad away, her hands clasped together. Out from them came a small orb of light, twisted images inside of it.

"I got there perfect gal for you Eve, she just needs this little calling card right into you." Lilith shot it forward, Eve felt the most intense heat bloom inside of her, and then, nothing. A voice whispered in her ear just before she went off into slumberland though.
