The Deal

McKenzie Brewer cheated on her literature test. She aced it, and the next highest score was a 93%, so if she had not cheated there would have been a 7 point curve. She was caught after professor Monroe ran the test through an AI detector.

In Dr. Monroe's office, McKenzie confessed.

"You can be expelled for this," said the professor.

"I'm sorry, is there anything I can do?" Said a frightened McKenzie.

"Hmmmm, I have a suggestion. If you had not been caught, there would have been no curve, and many students would have a letter grade lower. Remember that paper you did on the use of nudity in classical literature?"

"Yes."

"Did you use AI on that too? I didn't check that, but I could,"

McKenzie nodded.

"I think I have an idea for your punishment and an apology to the class. Take the deal and I'll let you do a makeup test."

McKenzie takes the deal.
