The DA stacks charges to try to a guilty plea

Despite her pleas and protests, Alice was led into a holding cell still without even a blanket to cover her naked skin. She was grateful that she was alone in this cell, but started to shiver at its coolness.

After a few hours, an officer came to take her out of the cell.

"Am I getting bailed out?" Alice's face beamed in excitement.

"Not quite," the officer quashed those thoughts, "we're taking you to the DA's office to speak with him personally about your charges and plea options."

With that, the officer took Alice out of her cell and cuffed her again, thankfully this time in front. Alice took this opportunity to place her cuffed hands over her privates at the expense of covering her breasts. When the pair crossed the hallway connecting the jail and courthouse, Alice tripped on the change of floor, bringing her elbows back and accidentally striking the officer in the abdomen.

"Oh my god I'm so sorry!" she explained as the cop wheezed.

"Tell it to the DA..." the cop whispered back as he continued leading her to the office, where she was sat down at a small oak desk just in front of the DA.

"Well, Alice," the DA turned to face her, "you're looking at a pretty long rap sheet. One count of resisting arrest, one count of indecent exposure, and one count of aggravated indecent exposure."

"What do you mean by that?! How?!" Alice panicked.

"Well, your most serious charge is aggravated indecent exposure, for getting naked in a school. That is a felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison and mandatory registration on the sex offender registry. The next two are misdemeanors of indecent exposure for being naked in jail, and for resisting arrest for talking back to the officer in the school. Those two can get you two years total on top of that aggro."

"Also, she elbowed me when we were walking over here," the cop, who had stayed in the room, informed the prosecutor.

"Oh goodie," came the DA sarcastically, "another felony - assaulting an officer, and I assume more resisting arrest? That puts you up to 60 years in prison if you decide to take everything to trial."

"That was an accident!!" Alice turned around to face the cop in exasperation, "And I didn't 'get' naked in school!" she turned back to the DA, "all the other students took my clothes and made be stand in class naked! And nobody gave me anything to wear in jail!"

"Well," the DA conceded, "you can get in less trouble if you plead guilty to everything and save the taxpayer the hassle and expense. Then you could be out free in 20 years instead of 60."

Alice gulped. Had she really gone from being shy about a class presentation to facing the barrel of 20 years in prison?!?!
