The Chaser (Starring Natalie Alyn Lind)

Miss Rebecca Silver. Age: Mid-Twenties. Occupation: Hopelessly In Love, Madly in Love, Illogically in Love, and Desperately in Love with her young bachelor of a boss by the name of Liam Stokeworth.

In a moment you’ll see a switch because Rebecca Silver, a young woman head over heels in love, is about to take a short but meaningful trip into the Twilight Zone.

Rebecca stared at the pink bottle set before her, the heart-shaped container offered to her for a dollar by a company she tested products for in her youth. A novelty item said to cause irreversible infatuation, obsession, and love to whoever drinks its content with the first person they see.

It was not the type of product Rebecca took seriously and yet the bottle had a strange compulsion about it. The desire to use the potion on someone was like an itch Rebecca could not scratch, and she carried it around for an opportunity to finally give in.

She nearly did with her boss Liam Stokeworth- a young businessman and son to the Company CEO she often questioned how he was still single and imagined being to one to finally tame the wild bachelor.

Another incident was coffee with her old University Professor John Locke- intelligent, brilliant, handsome and was only a few years older than her. A Professor of Ancient History, Professor Locke recently divorced his wife after a decade of marriage with him being able to retain much of his personal belongings.

Funnily enough she even thought of giving the potion to her doctor during a physical simply because she knew her parents would love the idea that she married a doctor. Granted Doctor Malcolm Brown sounded almost fake in Rebecca’s mind, but he was a well-paid doctor with decent hours but little time for a relationship now.

Then there’s Gabriel, a friend from her childhood she had a crush on, but they sadly never dated let alone spent time together. Handsome, the man knew her better than anyone but most importantly he had a well-paying job in a tech firm that allowed him to work from home so he could spend time with her.

Lastly, she even thought about giving the potion to her landlord simply so he could potentially give her free rent and everything else. The man was certainly not a desired pick as he was an older gentleman who reminded Rebecca of a mouse rather than a human. Still, he owned a series of apartments that made him quite a decent living, but his attitude was not appealing.

Perhaps Rebecca will give the potion to one of them or maybe she will encounter someone more appealing. Who’s to say her luck doesn’t take a turn for the worse and she slips the potion to someone who really shouldn’t love her? She could even drink the potion herself be it by accident or on purpose who knows you decide.
