The Capital City

Fang Qiong nodded slightly, then she turned around and left with me.

I followed her back to my house, which was only a short distance away from where the fight took place.

The house was empty as I my mother and sister were at my grand parents.

When we got inside, Fang Qiong removed her jacket and threw it onto the sofa. Then she went to the kitchen and started preparing dinner.

"Go freshen up," she told me. "Dinner will be ready soon."

I nodded and went upstairs to take a quick shower. When I came down again, Fang Qiong had already prepared a simple but delicious dinner.

As we ate, we talked about the current political situation in the capital city where we were staying.

There were three major families in the city: the Qi family, the Fang family and the Chen family. Each of them controlled a different district in the city.

The Qi family was led by Patriarch Qi, an old cultivator who had been living for more than two hundred years. He was known to be very powerful and ruthless.

The Fang family was led by Patriarch Fang, father of Fang Qiong. They were considered to be the second most powerful family in the city after the Qi family.

And lastly, there was the Chen family, which was led by Matriarch Chen, my mother. My father was the previous patriarch, but he died when I was still young. After his ****, the power of the Chen family declined significantly.

There were also some smaller families and rogue cultivators in the city, but they weren't as powerful as the three major families.
