The Burning Lady

The Burning Lady was a lot bigger than Raanciel was expecting. The building stood as wide as it was tall. As they walked to the entrance, a raven-haired drake came barging out of the door. He looked pissed off. The man stood a few feet shorter than Navi with almost the same bulk as him. He was wearing thick leather pants and a white shirt stained black with soot. He had on a leather apron on top of that. He was obviously a smith of some sort. There was a metal plate over his eye but that was as much detail Raanciel could get before he was pushed out of the way roughly by the man.

“Move, bitch,” He growled hatefully as he pushed past Navi and knocked into Raanciel. “Piece of shit old man-” Navi quickly righted Raanciel before the smaller drake fell over.

“Hi Tindrex, bye Tindrex,” Navi said with a snort. The drake hissed at him but kept charging on. Once they entered the building, Raanciel took a quick look around. There was a large bulletin board right by the door. There were flyers and odd jobs listed on there. At the far back there was the bar. The bar was against the wall with stools on three sides. Around the bar were tables. The wall at the far right is where the stairs were. There weren't that many people inside, though Raanciel assumed it was because of how early it still was. There were two Drakes sitting at the bar.

The one on the right side was a female Drake with light pink and blue hair with two short horns that curved in towards her forehead. Her horns were the same bright pink and blue. She was wearing red and gold plated armor. She turned her head to look towards Navi and Raanciel. Her eyes were the same blue and pink as her hair. The iris was baby blue and the sclera bubblegum pink. She winked and turned her attention back to the glass sitting in front of her.

Directly across from her was a broad-shouldered Drake with gradient hair - the top of his hair was a soft rose pink that turned into crimson red. His tall spiral horns seemed to glow. They were red with a faint pink aura around them. The red scales on the lower part of his face marked him as a Royal born. His armor was the same as the woman across from him except his was deep purple and black with metal swirl pauldrons. 2 large pink-tipped, red wings protruded from his back. The drake turned his head to look at Raanciel. Raanciel swallowed thickly as two deep blue eyes pierced his soul. The sclera of this drake's eyes were red which made the dark blue irises seem more menacing. The drake nodded at him and returned his gaze back to his glass.

Raanciel moved slightly into Navi as the two made their way to a table off to the side of the establishment against the wall. “Who are they?” Raanciel whispered as they sat down. Navi looked up towards where Raanciel pointed with his head.

“Oh! That’s Captain Lycoris of the guard and then Aiolos the owner of the Void-Walker manor. He basically owns this town - his family founded it.” Navi explained, pointing to the pink and blue-haired woman than the red-haired man.

“Void-Walker...? Why does that sound familiar...” Raanciel mumbled under his breath.

“Apparently his family used to own the badlands. Don’t know why anyone would want to live in that hell hole...” Navi grumbled.

“Ah! Void-Walker, the ruling family of Wruciur...I thought the entire bloodline was wiped out. He must be the fabled surviving member.” Raanciel peeked over his shoulder at the drake in question. He was sipping idly at the glass of red liquid in front of him while the barkeeper talked to him about something.

“Interesting,” Navi said, sitting back in his chair. “I’m not one for politics so I don’t really know much about him or them. I just know he usually keeps to himself but gave the town a portion of his manor to be used as a...well dungeon. What would you like to drink?”

Raanciel gave Navi his undivided attention. He bit his lip.
