The Assembly Line!

It was high time Texas found out just what it was this darned factory made! Taking a left, Texas headed straight towards the assembly lines, keen on finally learning what this factory of Rivercrest’s was all about! If this place was up to some really shady business, there was no way that people would be able to object to her locking up Rivercrest!

And as she stepped through the heavy door that led to the assembly line floor...well, Texas was not disappointed! Workers with green swirling eyes stood stock still and drooled on themselves a bit at they mindlessly operated the machinery over, and over, and over again! Texas’ first thought was that Rivercrest had enslaved her own workers but...the spirals in that maid of hers’ eyes...they were black and white, not green. Though...those green swirls were still very familiar to Texas. However, as her observations continued, things only got worse! The products on the assembly line...they were people too! There were civilians bound on these assembly lines, and they were being moved towards all sorts of strange machines! Pressed into toilet paper, rolled into rugs and blankets, folded into clothing, being stamped onto various other objects, being concrete-d into statues, and even one line where people went into a large metal chamber and came out completely blankfaced, drooling, and with those black-and-white swirly eyes she had seen! Texas was appalled! She knew Rivercrest was up to no good, sure! But this was a level of cruelty she hadn’t remotely expected from the rich and amicable vixen! Before she could try to rescue any of these people though, she heard a familiar voice call out to her...

“Oi Tex! It’s dangerous to drift off near the machines!”

Texas turned to her left just in time to see a titanic, yellow, and dangerous rear end pointing her way! A forceful burst of flatulence barreled out and sent Texas careening across the assembly line floor! The smell stung her nostrils almost as bad as the impact hurt her head. Staggering to her feet, Texas saw the face of a smug kangaroo that she had only seen once since Rivercrest started doing her thing!

“Roxie Roo? Yer workin’ fer Rivercrest now? Why the hell would ya be doin’ that? I thought ya hated civilized livin’!” Texas shouted, surprised to see her nemesis here. Though after seeing those hypnotized workers, Texas was starting to realize just why she hadn’t been seeing any of her usual enemies lately.

Roxie gave a smug smirk and put her hands on her hips. Quite a feat considering just how freaking wide they were. “That’s Floor Manager Roo to you, Tex! And yeah, that civilized city crap isn’t really my thing, but riddle me this. Why do ya think Miss Gildegarden came all the way out ‘ere in the first place? She may be rich, and she might talk rich, but she’s anything but civilized. I mean, have ya SMELLED her!? And hell, she pays better than banditing ever did. And it’s not like I’m not allowed to liaise with Human Resources to go kidnap more folks. So I have fun, get paid better, and the law can’t touch me! Once I’m done pounding you into the dirt that is!”

Roxie...had a point. Rivercrest’s whole schtick was probably appealing to a large number of the criminals in town. She had probably recruited a lot of them, honestly. Though, one thing was really starting to bug the weasel. So, she just had to ask! “So...the heck is Human Resources anyways? I get the resources part meanin’ that you gather stuff ta be used for other stuff, but what in tarnation is a human!? Y’all said you were kidnappin’ folks. Does it mean people? Is it a fancy word for kidnapper?”

Roxie blinked, and the smug grin slowly vanished from her face. Seemed that the kangaroo hadn’t really given much thought to all of that. “Honestly...I ‘ave no fuckin’ clue what a human is. Maybe some weird rich person joke. But I’ve got a better question for you, Tex. Do you think you’ll land on one of the lines if I kick you hard enough?”

Texas furrowed her brow. How was that a relevan-OH SHIT! Texas’ body came very close to just flattening against Roxie’s filthy soles as the two massive feet reared up and sent her flying with a mighty kick! Texas flailed about and shouted as she sailed through the air before landing...
