The Arrangement.

I glanced towards the kitchen. A Coffee Pot was just starting to tick.

"Scuse me..." I mumured as the random shouts continued. It almost seemed like they weren't actually talking about me, as I entered the small kitchen. The fridge was well kept, but there were a LOT of take out meals in there. I mean a lot. I noted that there was at least a block of cheese, bread and carton of eggs, so it looked like it was going to be... Pizza Topping scrapple with a side of gods I hope that yakisoba is still good.

"See... cooking breakfast, that's like totally a MY list thing." Carla shouted slightly softer, and I really hoped that when Kaila came down she wasn't in an a shirt and sweats.

"With shirt off. My thing." Kaila responded, descending the stairs. In a green bathrobe, so there was that at least.

"Damn it, are you really going to make me go with the rule?" Kaila sighed, walking towards me as Carla settled herself back onto the couch.

"Yep, absolutely we can't make it work." Carla groaned.

"So... Brent, you're great, but I can't see you any more." Kaila sighed. "Oh that smells amazing, by the way."

"Why... " I was shocked. This girl was perfect in every way, and had just been telling her sister how great I was.

"Don't take it personal. Just a rule that Carla and I have. If we both try to call dibs on the same guy, neither one of us gets to go after him." Kaila shrugged apologetically.

"Unless he's got a twin brother. You've got a twin brother, right? Tell me you have a twin brother. Lie if you have to." Carla shouted back over her shoulder as the sound of a fire burst from the tv.

"I uhm..." I looked at Kaila who brought her hands together in a pleading gesture. "Yeah, I totally have a twin brother."

"Damn, that was totally a lie." Carla groaned from the couch.

"Ok, I have to know what that is. It really does smell good, and I know we didn't have anything like that in the house." Kaila looked over my shoulder at the attempt at culinary improvisation.

"Won't tell you unless I get a mulligan on this rule thing," I argued.

"Carla, you gotta owe me one on this." Kaila brought her hands down on the bare counter and leaned forward.

"Ain't doing it." Carla responded nonchalantly as a kill cam played on the screen.

"Then she doesn't get breakfast." I shrugged.

"Well... I still do right?" Kaila asked hopefully. She poured a cup of coffee from the pot into a mug adorned with a peacock and yanked a second one from a cupboard, this one looking a bit like a decal off a hot rod.

"As long as you guys don't make me walk back to the city, sure." I grinned. "Oh and cream and sugar, please."

"No, no, you don't get to use this mug, that's Carla's."

Kaila pulled a large Dave and Buster's mug out of the back of the cupboard.

"This one work for you?" She smiled sweetly.

"Hey, I won that!" Carla objected from the couch.

"Dibs." Kaila quickly said. "Don't recall you ever mentioning it."

"Are you really gonna start doing that again?" Carla began.

"Did you ever call dibs on the PS4 this morning? Don't recall... so... Dibs." Kaila walked over and put her hand on the item in question quickly.

"So, the couch..." She began, looking at her sister mischievously.

"DIBS." Carla shouted before Kaila finished the sentence. "How much of a bitch are you going to be about this?"

"As much as I have to be," Kaila smiled.

"Fine. Dibs off. You owe me a couple for this one." Carla sighed. "So do you actually want to play or..."

"Hey Brent, Can you make my wonderful sister breakfast?" Kaila smiled at me with a beam. "Oh, and what are you planning on doing tonight?"
