The AI Examines Her

“Miss Aran, there is a medical pod in the deck below here. Decend the stairs to your right, quickly.”

“Yes, yes, I will!” She said as her wood sandals clacked downstairs while her belly kept growing.

By the time she reached the medical room she could see her belly growing out as far as her breasts. She laid down on the slanted padded table as the computer’s scanned her.

“Miss Aran, it seems the malfunction in this chip has caused two unforeseen changes to your body. Your biological age has been changed to an estimated eighteen years and you are currently pregnant with triplets.”

“Take! It! Out!” Samus moaned as her belly kept growing. She reached around to her neck before a mechanical arm grabbed hers and stopped it.

“I do not believe this is wise, Miss Aran. My files on this chip are corrupted but my other processors estimate one of two outcomes if you remove the chip. I predict an eighty five percent chance you will remain pregnant even in the event and a 14.3 percent chance you will be left with the fetuses only partially developed within if you revert back. I calculate only a 0.7 percent chance of all changes reversing successfully.”

Facing those odds, Samus reconsidered. She lowered her hands back to her belly. “Okay… tell me more then. How far are they along?”

“I assess they are in the equivalent of the end of the first trimester of pregnancy. They are human, baring an almost perfect match to your current DNA.”

“Meaning… daughters…?” She asked, rubbing herself. “Will they live?”

“Unclear. I assess the best way to deliver them alive would be to permanently install the Miko Upgrade.”
