Chapter 3

What information is important?
The "Family business"
You take another sip of your whiskey. "This organisation obviously isn't legal. I would even go as far as to call it a crime syndicate." Margret nods silently. "If Darla didn't want to be part of it all it might very well be that she tried to escape the business and ran on her own terms. This would explain why she went to that B&B and why noone there says they saw her. It was all planned way in advance." You take another sip and look to Margret for suggestions.
"That sounds like a good solution, but she may just as well have been ****. They lead her to the B&B and took her hostage. Something like that could have been planned just as much in advance as her escape." she comments. You had thought of the same thing, but you had a counter argument. "The trackers she had on her suggest she had a tendency to leave unknown. Those might very well have been elicited by a previous escape attempt." you explain your reasoning to Margret, who agrees in the end.
"You may be right, but we have to keep an open mind about this." she says. "Where do we start our investigation, captain?" You finish your whiskey. "Let's ask some of the staff about the girl's personality and if they picked up any vibes that she might have wanted to leave." you say. "Noone plans an escape in the den of the fox without someone picking up on it." Margret laughs. "Don't you mean den of the lion?" You shake your head. "I think the people we're dealing with here are closer to foxes than lions, darling."
What's next?
