Chapter 268 by [KingDucky] [KingDucky]

What's next?

That was Easy

If it had been raining before, it was nothing less than a storming monsoon now. Lightning flashed in the black sky, Your shadowed form standing bellow the Kaz Mansion, briefly exposed under the sobbing horizon.

Although as the thunder rumbled after its counterpart, You vanished; a shadow.

The building was 3 stories up, locked down from its bottom, memories of the automated deadbolt locks on the doors and windows flickered in your mind... not that a thing as pathetic as that would stop you.

With a flash of the azure bolt above, the Mansion: painted in luminance once again. If one would look upon the tall building, they'd see a shadowed form, clawing its way up the drainpipe before vanishing once again into the unseen.

The Shadow peered into the warmth of the Office space, lit by a single lamp by the Deskside. The Shadow stood on the second-story balcony, unseen by the man typing on the desktop within; His target.

Principle Kaz's fingers tapped on the surface of his keyboard, the ratty man dressed in striped pyjamas, reading teachers reports, boring shit.

Marcus had a lot of resentment for what He was doing, that much was clear. The Hour was late and the rain didn't seem to be letting up. But who doesn't like to look out and gaze into the rain every once in a while, there is something relaxing in the sound and sight of the earth pelted by wrathful tears, an Angry storm above.

Marcus did not see the storm, out of the glass door leading to the second-story balcony, but he did see the rain, dripping from the form of a tall, hooded shadow, staring intently at him from the other side.

Kaz's cry caught in the back of his throat as He twisted out of his swivel chair, thumping against the ground as He scrambled into his desk draw, removing what looked to be a snub-nosed six-shot revolver whose barrel pointed towards the glassdoors... where nobody stood.

"What the fuck?" He whispered.

"Language in the Classroom, Principal." You whispered back.

The Small man swivelled back around, terror on his face as He met your golden orbs, a furious shadow with a wicked malicious smile, seemingly having appeared out of nowhere. "Be still."

He was frozen by your beaten up face, staring down at him with a ruthless gaze. You reached over and procured his gun as he mouthed wordlessly.

Clicking open the chamber, the bullets bounced on the carpet as you set the gun aside, huffing as He quivered in place, shaking and wide-eyed like a deer in headlights.

Throwing back your hood, You smiled a little at him, the corners of your lips bruised... it hurt, but it was worth it, seeing him **** after his little outburst in his Office with You and Daisy.

You lit up a cigarette, today had been plenty stressful. blowing smoke in his twitching face as he stared in silent wrath "Drake... How the hell... what the hell do you think you're doing in my hous-"

"You look tired, so I'll make this quick, Principal Kaz--Marcus... Yeah you know what, all the best teachers are casual outside of school, I'll call you Marcus. Alright Marcus, let's start with something that in my humble opinion, is very important." Your hand reached around, drawing one of your pistols, making the puny man's eyes bulge as the cherry of your cigarette glowed ominously "The first time you call for help, I'll assume it was a burp and let you off with some minor damage to your larynx, the second time you call for help, however, My arm might slip and break your jaw... but If you try and call for help a second time well... I'll just fucking shoot you."

Kaz vibrated with fear "Y-You do anything to me, and I-I'll go straight to the police, V-Vicky will hear you... You really t-think it's worth that risk?"

You smiled like a crocodile "Oh yes... it's very much worth the risk."

Whatever notions he had of escaping he quickly let go of, being held in place by what was likely terrifying magic, mixed with the gleam of your sidearm seemed motivation enough, the threats were just the icing on the cake. "What the hell do you want?"

"What do I want? good question... I came here to tell you a story, I think you'll like it, It goes a little something like this.

I don't have a lot of good memories with my Dad, he was cold, calculated, silent despite himself and frankly rude. The guy was tighter strung than piano wire but... I digress." huffing out another cloud of smoke that made the Principle cough violently "It was very rare to see that man let loose, break his fasting diets, or go for a smoke *Chuckle..." You smiled twirling your Marlboro around your fingers "But once when I was maybe uh 17?, and I remember this with clarity. He came to my room and asked me to join him for a drink, he'd always have a drink on the anniversary of my mother's ****... so here's me, thinking that it'd be a blast to finally see this man in some small state of vulnerability, I joined him happily.

So maybe an hour later, He'd poured my second drink and his fourth, probably the finest wood-brewed whiskey I'd ever have, and He started to talk to me about Change and stagnation

He said that Change is the catalyst for victory, and stagnation... well, that is how men lose themselves. I mean you live the same shitty life, repeating the same shitty days in and out, being put down by your superiors, being bullied by your peers, shit, after 8 long years in two different education systems going through that, well it's just fucking crazy, isn't it. Stagnation undoes a person at the seems, uproots everything, even values... but Change?"

Your smile was wide, you were sure that You looked psychotic, scratched and beaten to hell as you looked and felt.

"Change... now that, is where the true test lies, every day he'd see me getting beaten down, but I never had the balls to commit to the one thing that could save me: Change. Be it small or large, if I'd just once put myself on the line, then maybe his faith for my future independently could have been completely different.

Of course, I thought it was a load of bullshit because I was scared. But now..." another long draw on the cigarette. "...I realise that He was never so right, even in the grave he teaches me lessons. The Way I used to live, the way everybody else in that shitty academy lives, in stagnation, You're all out of your god damn minds-What? what the fuck are you looking at me like that for? hmmm!?" You charged forward, making him gasp and close his eyes, the cold barrel of your gun pressing into his throat, if he hadn't gotten the message before, He would now, so what if you had to look a little crazy.

pft... "look crazy"

Heavily breathing, wrath pulsing through your veins, you threw an arm around his quivering shoulder "I'm making a change, Marcus, the other day was the last day that you try and fuck with me, that anybody fucks with me. Whatever you had planned after the events on Monday with Duke; expulsion, the police, it's done. because if you try and stagnate anything regarding me again, I will slit your throat in your sleep, burn this house to the ground and tell you're daughter that You had a psychotic episode. trust me, I'm awfully persuasive."

His breaths began shallow and weak "L-Leslie Harmon is o-o-on the school board, H-He's furious... a-about what you did to his s-s-son, He holds 7-per cent of the schools yearly revenue in shares I can't-"

Sweeping in, you poked him with your weapon, making him flinch "Don't you worry your little head about the Harmons, I've already decided what I'm going to do to those motherfuckers and their wife-beating disgusting Son. Now, here; a Choice." Your left hand opened in a friendly gesture, the right holding the gun tightly.

"I'm going to let you go now, and you have two choices, You can shake my hand, make a deal; a change, and we'll keep well out of each other's way from now on... or... You can do literally anything else, and I'll start painting walls with your brains. So... alright, here we go: Be Free little bird."

Kaz's shoulders relaxed, his eyes darting around as he tried to think his way out of this... but there was no way out of this, You'd have your way, or he'd die. It was just that simple

"You're running out of time..." You sang mockingly.

You could see the gears turning in his head, some way to weasel out of this.

The weasel cannot escape a dragon's jaws.

Principle Kaz, frowned and fearfully eyeing your gun, took your hand "I don't want to see you at my house ever again, D-Drake, Am I clear?"

You laughed "Really, well that's funny, I was just about to go talk to your daughter, we're about to become very close, might help me keep a very close eye on you."

His eyes widened as He went to scream. "ah-ugh!" Kaz's head whipped back as your fist flew into his face, knocking him clean out and into a nice nap on the carpet. You checked his pulse, his nose was broken, but He was still alive.

"Whoopsie, skipped steps one and two, Oh well, Sleep well you pompous cunt." You whispered tapping his shoulder as you walked towards the door.

Welp... job done. That was easy.
