Chapter 17 by BlanqSl8 BlanqSl8

How do I spend the last 15 minutes?

Texting in the park.

I took a moment to take note of my current surroundings, noticing there was a green space across the street between two smaller office buildings. It looked like there were some park benches and a nice garden.

Perfect! I’ll just relax for another fifteen then send Alex a text! There was a pedestrian crossing conveniently about 20 feet to my right, so I strolled over to the button and bopped it with my fist. It made a ‘Ka-CHUNG’ sound and I stood back on a heel, admiring the beautiful day while I waited for the light on the other side of the street to indicate I could cross.

The traffic was fairly slow, but it was probably due to pick up considering it was nearly lunch time. People lazily drove by in their mostly expensive vehicles, it was downtown where all the high-end businesses were… I guess that makes sense, and no one seemed to be in any particular rush.

The light changed and I walked across, checking both ways as I distrusted downtown traffic. I ignored the women parked in front of the cross walk that stared at me as I crossed, instead opting to look up at a bird that flew by and then down at my feet.

I hopped up on the sidewalk on the other side of the street and I heard the vehicles behind me resume their natural flow as I stepped up to the gate of the park. The gate was a large and metallic with thin black poles separated by small pieces of aged, flat wooden board. Overall it had a bit of a creepy vibe, but I wasn’t going to let that stop me!

I entered the park and sat down at a bench near a flower bed. I wasn’t an expert on flowers… What were those? I shrugged and took a minute to scan the park. There was another bench on the other side of the park, an older lady was sitting there throwing breadcrumbs down to a bunch of pigeons. Nice. A little further in there was a tree, under which sat a couple of younger girls in their teens openly kissing each other. I smiled a bit at their affection, then moved on. There was a gardener tending to a flower bed near the middle of the park, her heart-shaped behind facing me. I admired it from where I was at for a second before she turned around rapidly to look at me, squinting slightly. What the hell?? What… Who…? Then I saw the tall woman standing next to her pointing at me. Shit! I blushed slightly to myself and muttered something like, “How could I not stare…”

I thrust my hand sulkily into my pocket and my attitude changed when I pulled my phone out to see it was nearly noon! I grinned happily and decided I would send Alex a text a few minutes early. As I went to find her contact information, my phone emitted a slight ‘beep’ and I looked at the top of the screen. I had just received a message from Alex. I tapped it.

Alex: I’ll be down in a few minutes. Patricia and I are just finishing up…

GULP. Is she… does she mean…? The possibilities ran through my mind as I sat there, pondering, staring into space. I felt a buzz in my hand as I received another message.

Alex: I’m hoping wherever we’re going has good drinks. I’m parched. Patricia sure isn’t though…

I just stared at my screen, slack-jawed. Did she just imply… Even though I shouldn’t have been shocked given what I already knew and had experienced, I still sort of was. I tapped out my reply.

Me: Okay. Sounds good!

I heard the synthesized _‘swish' _as my phone sent the message and as I went to return my phone to my pocket it received another text. I flipped my phone up and my eyes widened.

Image File. Do you want to open?

There was a Green ‘Yes’ on the left and a Red ‘No’ button on the right. Shaking slightly, I hovered my finger over the Green button and missed it on my first attempt to tap it. Clearing my throat, I steeled my resolve and nonchalantly tapped the green button like I was saying ‘Yes’ to “Do you like cake?”.

The picture loaded on my screen… I could see some long brown hair and two dark legs protruding outwards. Oh. My. God. The picture clearly depicted Patricia with her face buried in Alex’s most delicate parts! The picture was taken so that only the top of Patricia’s head and Alex’s legs were visible, everything else hidden. Clearly conveying the message of what had transpired… without giving away any explicit details. As if the implication isn’t explicit enough! I huffed to myself, still a bit in shock.

I looked up from my phone, directly into the blue eyes of a woman bent over staring into my face.

“AAaah!!” I yelped. “Whatthehell!?!?”

“What the hell, indeed.” She smiled at me, still bent over. I couldn’t help myself, her cleavage was staring as intently at me as she was. As I raised my eyes back to meet hers, she cocked her head at me. “Really…?”

“Sorry… I was, uh, just… Well hey! You frightened me anyway!” I tried to put on my most indignant glare.

She glared back at me, seemingly unphased by my efforts to look irate. “First, my friend catches you staring at my ass, I try to get your attention, but you are apparently too involved in whatever is going on with your phone. So. I walk over here to try to flirt with you in person and you stare down my shirt.” She stood up slightly and put her hands on her hips, smirked at me and finished with a dramatic, “Rude!”

Despite what she was saying, she certainly didn’t seem to be offended. Her coy smile combined with the way she was still leaning slightly forward seemed far more suggestive than defensive. She was wearing blue coveralls with a tight, white sleeveless t-shirt underneath. The eyeful of chest I had just received was certainly substantial, but not quite as large as, say, Alex’s.

“So. How do you plan on repaying me for your rudeness, Mr…?” She quirked an eyebrow at me.

“J-John.”

She smiled, delighted. “Hello John, my name is Sabrina.” She blew a wisp of blonde hair out of her face as she leaned forward to shake my hand. I tentatively reached forward to shake it and she reached out, took my hand and grasped it tightly, shaking it twice firmly, then let go. “Welcome to my park.”

“…Thanks?” I said with more query in my voice than certainty, then picked up a bit more smoothly, “It’s very nice. You take care of…” I gestured around us, “…All of this?”

AHEM.” I could hear someone clearing their throat loudly followed by a swift ‘SMACK’ as Sabrina jumped forward slightly with a soft, “OH!”. I looked past Sabrina to see the other woman who had been pointing me out as the guilty target when I had been catching an eyeful of a certain heart-shaped behind…

“My name’s Yvonne.” She tipped her head to the side with a smile and gave me a little wink. “We actually both,” she glared at Sabrina, “Maintain this park.” Yvonne was a taller girl, probably as tall as me. She was wearing similar overalls but with a black t-shirt instead of a white one. She had a tanned complexion and a cute smile!

Sabrina looked slightly miffed at her partner, “Yeah, yeah. We do it together.” She froze slightly and stammered, “Uh, I mean, we don’t DO it, do it together, ya know…” She cringed slightly at her own faux pas. Well that’s adorable. She went from pissed to embarrassed in a heartbeat.

“Well, you guys sure do a nice job.” I said, tactfully trying to draw the subject back into something more conversationally acceptable for a public place. “Just look at those flowers!” I looked over and pointed at a bed of flowers at the edge of the park.

That seemed to give Sabrina a bit of her confidence back. She sighed happily as she followed my gaze and looked at the flower bed. “Thanks.” She smiled and looked back at me, a gleam in her eye once more, “Sooo…,” Oh boy… Here comes the flirting she promised. “I suppose you think you can just get away with ogling me from afar, then pretending you didn’t!?” Her devilish grin was slightly offputting… “If you wanted a closer look… all you had to do was ask!” She winked at me.

I looked anywhere by at her… my face flushed slightly as I went to try to explain, “Erm… look, I’m sorry about that…”

“No need to apologize!” She stuck her hip out and slapped her own ass then stuck her tongue out at me before she said, “I get that all the time!”

I just stared. Unsure whether anything I could say would make the situation better… or worse.

Yvonne rolled her eyes behind Sabrina as her display of seduction was rendered ineffective. She stepped forward and tapped Sabrina on the shoulder. “Hey. That was really smooth, but honestly I think you’re just scaring him…”

“I am not, look at him, he’s just transfixed by my attention!” She boasted, grinning at me then giving me an exaggerated wink. Oh… No… Not like this… I winced to myself at how corny she sounded.

“Yeah. You can tell by the fact that he can’t stop talking to you or engaging you in any way he can.” Yvonne teased. “He’s practically bent you over and half fucked you to Never-Never Land, so let’s get going then Wendy.”

Sabrina just looked flabbergasted. She clearly thought her wiles were winning me over.

“First star to the right and straight on ‘til morning.” All three of us jumped. Alex was leaning up against the entrance to the park within hearing distance, arms crossed and looking amused.

“Well…” I said, “My date is here.”

Alex walked up to us, eyeing Sabrina as she did. She looked very classy in her expensive boots and outfit. Sabrina traded glares with Alex, but backed down as she got closer. Sabrina looked at me.

“You with her?” She looked a bit disappointed.

“I am.” I said confidently.

“Ah.”

Yvonne started to giggle. She covered her mouth and grabbed Sabrina’s hand, leading her away. To her credit, Sabrina snatched back her hand and walked with her, but turned, walking backwards and called back to me, “You’re welcome any time in my – OW, OUR garden.” Then she gave me a double thumbs up and spun on her heel and joined her friend as they strode back to where they had originally been working.

“Nice couple.” Alex said, watching them walk away.

I looked up at her and said, “I’m not sure they are? A couple, I mean.” I shrugged.

She laughed quietly, then looked at me, “She didn’t overly bother you… did she?”

“Nah! She was just flirting a little.”

“Good.” She seemed serious. She looked like she was about to add something else, then shook her head and said, “I’m starving. Let’s go eat!”

Mmm, food. My stomach rumbled as I thought of eating. “Mhmm, I think I’m ready.”

I stood up and she offered me her arm. I was slightly taken aback by her offer but accepted it with a smile.

“Thank you kind ma’am!” I batted my eyelashes at her and she laughed.

I placed my arm in hers and she led me out of the park.

Where do we go to eat?
