Texas is doomed

“The mayor better have a good reason to call me to her office on active duty” Texas complained to Georgia, as the deputy escorted her to her headquarters “Oh, believe me sheriff, it is a situation of major importance”. With the deputy marching in front of her, Texas couldn’t see the smile plastered on her face, neither when they crossed the town, nor when they walked into the building and climbed the stairs to the office.

“After you, sheriff” Georgia stepped aside, her smug face setting off every one of Texas’ alarms. Her instincts told her to run, that this was a trap, but the determined sheriff wasn’t a person that recoiled in the face of danger. Besides, unbeknownst to her, it was too late to run anyways. Pushing the door open, the sheriff stepped into the office “Alright Vivian, what scheme are ya up into this…” she didn’t finish the sentence, dumbfounded by the fact that, in front of her, flanking Vivian by both sides, stood… two Georgias?

“What in darnation?!” Texas stepped back, her hand bolting for her trusty six-shooter, just to get froze in place. Her eyes widened in terror as the three villains in front of her smiled, eyeing her like a coyote that found a wounded rabbit. “What was that sheriff? Did you intend to draw your revolver on the mayor? Tsk tsk tsk” Vivian voice exuded anticipation, being finally able to get rid of the meddling sheriff once and for all “You know Texas, you could have had the easiest of lives under my wing, but you had to be a goody two-shoes that kept foiling my plans. However, it seems that you crossed the wrong person. How rude of the town’s sheriff to insult our new doctor” the petrified Texas could only gulp in realization of what had happened. That witchdoctor she went to see before mustn’t have taken well her comments about her wizardry, and done something about it to get back at her. “You see, we were much politer, as expected from the authority of this town” she continued, slowly dragging Texas towards her “And turns out, she is a great addition to our community. She even gave us some presents before she left. on the sole condition that we thought you to respect the spirits. Right deputy?” she taunted.

“Some really nice presents, boss” one Georgia affirmed

“After all, the spirits have to be respected. Yes siree” said the other

“And all we have to do was being nice to her” the Georgia behind her said, closing the door

Texas was getting anxious. She definitely got away from dire situations, but for the first time of her life she saw herself truly trapped with no way out.

“Now now, your actions can’t go without punishment. What kind of mayor would I be if I let you go after you insulted one of our new residents AND tried to pull out a gun of me? This town is a respectable place Texas, so you must understand that the consequences must be severe. Deputy, go ahead” she signaled the Georgia on her right, the original, who happily complied.

Stepping in front of her, the massive mare towered over Texas, giving her a smug smile before extending her hand to the sheriff’s chest and ripping off her golden badge “Sheriff Texas, on account of your crimes against the town of Gold Springs, you are hereby relieved from your duties, and relegated to…”
