Testing your power

Abigail gets off your lap and stands up before you. "Let start with understanding this gift so we know what it can do. What have you tested so far?"

"Mostly simple things thus far. Easy choices like we went through as a group. I did have Aunt Linda make some choices to affect our health and I managed to get her to forget making the choices." You answer honestly.

"So you haven't pushed too far yet then? Fair enough. Want to do some more testing and learning?" You nod. Abigail offers a suggestion. "Let's start with something physical that we can easily see."

"Okay, would you rather be a foot shorter or a foot taller?" You ask without really thinking about it.

"Jace!?! I'd rather be a foot shorter I guess but those are terrible choices..." Abigail scoffs at you as she shrinks.

"But it worked!" You exclaim as you pick up your sister's littler form. "And right away too."

"But what is going to become of me now?!?" Abigail is starting to really fume at you.

"Okay, okay. What about this, would you rather go back to your old height just as you were before or be one inch taller than you were before?"

"My old height please." Abigail regrows to her old height and you set her back down. She gives you a punch in the arm, mostly forgiving you. "A little more warning next time ok? But I guess you can undo choices without too much trouble. Can you do it for yourself?"

"Let's try, would I rather be a foot taller or a foot shorter? A foot taller." Not surprisingly, nothing happens. "I guess I can't answer myself. But let's try this. Would you rather that I was 10% stronger or 10% fatter?"

"10% stronger" Abigail answered and watched at your muscles got a little more toned and defined. "Well that works. I wonder what other changes you can make. Do they have to be normal things or can you do super things?"

"I wonder? Let's try this, would you rather I can perform the shadow clone jutsu from Naruto or I can perform alchemy like Edward Elric, the Fullmetal alchemist?"

"Shadow Clones... you are so reckless." The smile on her face clashed with the worry in her eyes. As an anime girl, she knew what you were going for and that you picked from some of her favorites made her happy.

You smile and made the hand sign before calling out "Shadow Clone Jutsu!" And suddenly there were three of you. One of your clones immediately grabbed Abigail's wrists, holding them over her head. The second, grabbed her ankles and held her feet in place. She was stunned into silence by the two clones appearing and then grabbing her. You tickle her firm stomach, you know that she hates being tickled but secretly likes when you get her without warning. She breaks out into laughter and you stop having demonstrated the skill. Your clones let her go and you release the jutsu. It disorients you for a second as their experiences flow into you. You could feel what they felt and its surreal. "Okay, that was cool and weird but mostly cool. What should we try next?"

"Can you change the physical world instead of just people?" Abigail asked thoughtfully.

"Hmmm. I haven't tried anything like that yet... Let's try this, would you rather my bed be a king size or California king size?" He paused for a second before hastily adding "Or an Alaskan king size?"

Abigail caught the extra implied test with the third option and wanted to pick it but the words failed her. After a few seconds of trying, she settled and answered "California king." Jace's queen bed stretched out before their eyes. The sheets also expanding with the bed but no new pillows. "I tried to pick Alaskan but couldn't."

"That's ok. I wonder if that was because I can only give two choices or because I hesitated. Let's try this, would you rather 1 new pillow or 2 new pillows in matching pillow cases or 3 new pillows in matching pillow cases appear?" You ask more carefully this time.

Abigail again seems to hesitate before answering "2 pillows in matching cases is fine." She frowns as replies, the question seemingly answered with appearance of 2 new pillows. "At least we got you some new pillows but you are clearly limited to just 2 choices." She flops into the larger bed and makes herself comfortable. "Come snuggle with me." She makes a face at you that you recognize. She's concerned about you. You climb into bed with her and let her guide your head onto her chest. She gently plays with your hair. "You need to take a little time and rest. I am sure that today and yesterday have taken more from you than you realize. Especially with the surprise letter."

"Okay." More weariness in your voice than you thought. She knows you very well and has been taking care of you for a long time. You wiggle into her drawing a little giggle. "I'm just going to rest my eyes for a little bit. Will you stay with me?"

"Always." She answers easily and continues to play with your hair like she did when you were littler. The exhaustion of the day finally overtaking the excitement and shock. You are asleep before you know it.
