Testing the suit

It takes you a few moments to get over the initial surprise of the suit forming around your body, and you realize somehow there's an screen before your face inside the mask of the suit.

You feel a gentle prick on the back of your neck followed by a female voice that doesn't belong to Rose or Venus, "Welcome, new user. Please identify yourself."

"Uh... John," you respond, before you realize you can't move your body or see outside the suit.

You start to panic, and the suit must have picked up on your increased heart rate. "Please relax. I'm just adjusting the suit to fit you since this is your first time and you will soon be able to have full body functions and suit functions," the voice says.

"What are you? An AI?" you ask.

"Yes. I'm powered by the nanotechology now flooding through your bloodstream and customizable to your preference. Would you like me to remain this way or would you like me change? I can take on the voice of a male if you want."

"Uh, no. I like having a female voice. Although, could you do a British accent?"

"Of course," the voice replies in a British accent.

"Do you have a name?"

"My design name is Terminus, but you can also designate me a custom name. Is there a name you would prefer?"

"Hmm... let's go with Lily."

"Great. I'll respond to Lily from now on. Also, be aware, that because I'm in your bloodstream, I'll be with you whether the suit is on or not, although what I can do will be different."

"Got it-" you say, then realizing that you can see out the mask of the suit now and you can move. Relieved, you wave your arms around and take a few steps, surprised to find how easy it is and as if you're not wearing the heavy metal suit. You look around at the faces of Venus, Walter and Rose, who are staring at you curiously.

"I think it works. Lily seems like a useful assistant," you say.

"Who?" Walter asks.

"Lily. The AI. Can't you hear her?"

"No, none of us can hear the AI," Venus explains. "It's communicating to you directly inside your head. It's now wired into your body."

"Fascinating."

"How do you feel?"

"Actually, I feel okay. It's almost like there's an internal cooling system in here."

"That's the nanotechnology moderating your body temperature. Good, it works," Venus says, sounding relieved that her work is not for naught.

"So... is this like Iron Man? Can I fly in this?"

"Yes. You just need to think it, and the suit will adjust the appropriate components to carry out the function you want. You want to fly? Think it. You want to form a blade or gun? Think it. Of course, you need matter to produce those things, so keep that in mind. You can't shoot unlimited amount of bullets if the suit doesn't have enough metal to produce the bullets, but the suit can also adapt from the surroundings and absorb into the suit."

By the time Venus is done explaining, you're already hovering 2 feet over the floor. The suit is incredibly intuitive and you're amazed at how easy it is to control it.

"Okay, I'm going to take this back for a test," you say, setting your feet down and heading to the exit.

"You can't! That's our property!" Walter protests.

"But it's bonded to him now and there's no way to reverse it, correct?" Rose says, looking to Venus.

"Correct. There's no reversal. Only option is a shut down which will kill the nanobots and make the suit obsolete. It looks like it's functioning properly, but I'll need to conduct tests later to make sure," the young scientist says.

"Sure. Come to this address tomorrow," you say, telling Venus the address to the mansion. "Come alone. I don't need an entire crew to poke and prod me."

After that, Rose escorts you into the elevator and up, before you bid her farewell and use the suit to fly away.
