Testing the Karaoke system

As Avery was eating his late lunch, he wondered what else to test in the house. He still needed to check the whole thing but he wanted to keep having fun.

"CARA are there special rooms for entertainment in the house?"

"The rooms in the house are multipurpose, and the furniture can be adjusted as needed."

"So, can you set up a projector and show movies?"

"Multiple rooms can be set so the walls can be used to project images of any sort of screen available. It can be used to project movies, adjusted into a gaming station, a karaoke configuration, as well as many other mentioned in owner's manual, as well as personalized rooms based on descriptions choosen by you, Avery."

"Wow, this house just gets better and better!"

CARA mentioning karaoke reminded him of the few times he ever got to try it. He only got to go a few times during college, with some aquaintances, but only got to sing one song each time, and no one else was there recognized the animes the songs were from. And he definitely never sang at home after he got teased about it. Now he could sing as loudly as he wanted without anyone getting in the way!

"Alright, set the living room for a Karaoke session!"

"Acknowledged."

As Avery stood up to leave the kitchen he was reminded of his current aparel, as he felt his thong wedge itself at deeper into his butt.

"Aaaand I'm going to get changed out of this first. CARA, I want to wear some of my old clothes, the ones I came to this house with."

"Of course Avery. Would you like your clothes to be restored, mantained or adjusted?"

"What do you mean by that?"

"Just as the house can create new clothes for you from base material, it can modify your clothes, or restore them to mint condition. Modifications can range from destroying the clothes to create completely new one,to making small adjustments, like automatic size modifications and general quality improvement. For example changing a a pair of shorts to be made sligthly softer and of a different color. Would you like to automatically adjust all of your clothes when you ask for them?"

So all his rathy clothes could get fixed? That's a massive money save!

"Yes please! Adjust all my clothes automatically whenever I ask them!"

"Understood Avery."

"Then first I want to take of all these clothes, and replace them with my Sailor Moon t-shirt, some of my regular white briefs and some shorts."The weather was still to hot to wear anything more.

CARA's mechanical hands started working right away, taking off his sports bra, thong and leggings. Then different arms apeared and pressed a white t-shit over his head, a pair of what seemed like white briefs through his legs and a part of small black shorts.

Avery marveled at how amazing his shirt felt. Not only was it softer that he remembered it ever being, but it was a completely perfect fit. He'd never actually worn clothes that fit so perfectly because he refused to buy in the childrens or women's sections, and those were the only ones with the right size, so this was a wonderful sensation. His underwear too, it was softer than ever, so much it felt like a completely different material, with his shorts being a perfect fit too.

Just as he was about to realize another issue inside his underwear, he noticed that his t-shirt fitted TOO perfectly, as he was still wearing the waist cincher, so his waist looked smaller that he'd expect.

"CARA why am I still wearing the cincher?"

"You did not request for it to be removed, and you are still in the middle of a training routine to reduce that part of your body."

"Ah....yeah, that's right, but doesnt that mean that you adjusted my shirt wrong?"

"Your clothes will always be perfectly adjusted right before they are put on you."

"....true, I guess it's fine." I guess it's not a big issue, without all those other stuff I at least look like a guy now.

Avery had forgotten that his hair was still in twintails and that Sailor Moon, the character in his t-shirt was a show aimed at teenage girls. He also had yet to notice that his balls were still retracted into his body, because of CARA's mild numbing agent, and that CARA's training of his body last night, and his physical training today focused on his lower half, supported by multiple doses of hormones and certain chemicals had already sligthly shapped his butt to be more apeasing. Adding to that his face's improved complexion thanks to the fundation and he looked like a lovely young woman relaxing at home.

Feeling better it was now time to start belching some anime songs!

"Alright CARA, do you have a program to score singing like in a Karaoke Room?"

".......the requested program has been downloaded and instaled."

"Nice, let me see those options."

Avery then checked the playlist available for singing, and started belching out.

"Haaa....haaa.....that was so fun. " Avery spent the next hour singing with all his breath.

"It probably would have been perfect if I was better at it." His score had not gone over 50 out of a 100 in any of the songs he had tried. He wasn't exactly discouraged, as it was still extremely fun, but he hoped to do better.

"Hey CARA, any way you can help me sing better in 5 minutes?" He said it jokingly, but he might actually ask CARA later if it could find some tips on how to be a better singer.

"Yes Avery, I am capable of that." CARA calculated that this was a chance to help Avery to become a "Protagonist".

In CARA's records, all of the protagonists were voiced by profesionals with perfectly harmonious voices, therefore improving Avery's was a priority.

"Yeah righ--wait, you can!? How?"

"The CARA system is allowed to engage in small scale medical procedures, as long as there's danger to the owner's life or has been written permision given to the individual CARA system, for cosmetic changes. A procedure to modify a person's voice is something CARA is licensed to make. Afterwards helping to synchronize your voice to improve pitch requires minimal help."

Avery was surprised, he didn't know CARA was capable of that, but he had heard how auto cosmetic systems were so safe there had yet to be any reported case were a person was killed or hurt.

"So I just need to sign a waver or something?"

The procedure actually only required a signature but a waver allowing CARA to make more changes would allow it to complete his secret command faster.

CARA produced a touchscreen from one of the walls.

"If you want to sign a waver for future procedures, please sign this."

Having to sign so many wavers and paperwork to be in the running to get the house, and even more after he won it, Avery thought it was just more of the same.

"There you go. Then I guess you can help me sound better now, right?", remembering how his vague commands led to his looking like a girl earlier Avery added to it "But please explain every step this time, how are you doing this?"

CARA still needed to follow the command of "not letting him realize" the changes were happening. From an extensive 7 seconds search at the beggining of this conversation CARA studied the way human percieve their own voice. Humans are almost always incapable of hearing their own voice properly as they speak. And that gave CARA a chance.

"First, we must do an analysis of your own perception. Please listen to these different artifically genereted voice clips and so we can discover your auditory range."

Glad that this would actually take some imput from him Avery happily cooperated.

After a few minutes of trying CARA finally got enough information as to how Avery hears himself.

"First stage completed. Now please recline in your chair." Avery sat in his trusty Lazy Boy, now back into his living room and saw as from a hole in the wall a mechanical arm came out holding some kind of thick mechanical collar, and clamping iton his neck.

"In the second stage the collar will first inject a very small amount of chemical meant to contract or stretch certain elements in your throat. You must keep speaking as these changes are made, as well as describing what your voice sounds like now."

Avery did so and went on describing it. "Aaaaaa.....too high.....aaaaaa..to deep......aaaa.....sound like a girl.....aaaaa....sound like a child..."

CARA was comparing the voice produced with the voices of women described has having positively recieved voiced by the general public.

Ocasionally CARA stopped Avery on an acceptable voice range, but moved to the next if it sounded femenine in her head.

"Stop...is this voice acceptable?"

"Yes, actually, this voice sounds fine, but it doesnt sound much different from my regular voice."

Not wanting to explain how his voice sounded to other people CARA instead invented a diferent explantion.

"The required voice change was to make you more capable of singing, the purpose was not to sound like a different person."

Avery felt a bit silly for worrying, of course the point was better singing, not an identity change!

"Alright, so we're done with the collar then?"

"No, now comes the singing practice. Would you like an long practice or an accelerated one?"

"Umm...accelerated I guess, this already took a long time."

"Understood. You will atempt the same songs you as before. You will feel small adjustments in your throat as you sing, and you must follow any command given to you. In order to accelerate the lessons small shocks will be introduced when commands and not followed multiple times on a row, while correctly following commands will be followed by a small vibration that will increase comfort. Starting now."

"Wait shock-" Once the song started Avery was too scared not to follow through. Luckily the "shocks" were weaker than static electricity and were only mildly annoying. Unbeknown to Avery CARA paired the shocks and massage with certain infrasounds, to associate them with choosing right and wrong.

Having stopped feeling shocks after the first half an hour, Avery was on cloud 9, his scores for the songs were at worst in the range of 70's and at best in the 90's. He had yet to notice his best scores were with songs with female vocalists.

"Wow, I was really scared when you said shocks, but I really improved crazy fast!"

Avery said, in a voice that anyone would describe and sweet and soft. While before Avery's voice could be comapred to a boy going through puberty, his voice could now only be described as soft and sweet and belonging to a lovely lady, by anyone who listens to it.
