Tell the truth

"I'm a virgin" Dolph said. The others looked at him.

"Well there's nothing wrong with that" Hanna said, with polite condescension.

"I knew it" Klaus said.

Dolph looked at Ingersol.

"None of us are virgins." Ingersol said.

"Are people having sex here?" Dolph said.

They all looked at him. Dolph knew the truth.

"Since the first day" Klaus said. He put his arm around Talia, who rolled her eyes.

"And... are any of you sleeping with Don Jozef?" Dolph said in a hushed tone.

They all looked at him.

"You don't want to ask that" Ingersol said. Dolph was shocked.

"It's for the country" Shira said. "I don't like it, but it's necessary."

Dolph felt his heart sink into his stomach.

"Why? How?" Dolph's voice raised slightly. He barely kept it down.

"To prove that we are willing to give everything in service of it. To kill or die." Shira said.

"Even you, Klaus?" Dolph said.

Klaus looked down. Dolph could not stand it.

"It's for our future." Hanna said.

Dolph swallowed the last of his stew and got up.

"Dolph, nothing leaves this table." Ingersol said.

"I won't tell the others. But I can't eat with you. I can't look at all this pain." Dolph said. The truth was a disturbing thing.
