Tell Wally to talk to it

"It seems interested in you." You told Wally. "You startled it, but I think if you talk to it, you can convince it to join you without fighting."

Wally gave a small nod. "Its nice to meet you, ralts." He suddenly gave a small jump and looked around, before refocusing on the ralts. "Was that you? ... Oh, you're telepathic? That's really cool." The ralts smiled shyly at him.

{if May Travel==1}"Those two are so cute." May whispered to you. "I think they'll make a great pair."

You chuckled. "Yeah, me too. Huh, their hair is almost the same color too. Must be fate."

May giggled happily.

{endif}Wally slowly reached out again, and this time the ralts didn't flinch back, instead letting him pat its head between its horns.

"So do you want to come with me?" He asked. "We can travel together and become strong." There was a slight pause. "Does that mean... you're worried about food? Don't worry, I can afford food. And we'll be able to get even more money if we win battles. ... Huh? Oh, go ahead."

You were curious what he was giving the ralts permission for. Then the ralts' horns and Wally's eyes both started glowing faintly.

"What's happening?" You asked in concern, taking a step closer.

"She wants to see my understanding of what this all means." Wally relied, sounding distracted.

A moment later the glows faded, then Wally beamed at the ralts. "That's great! ... Oh!" He scrambled around his bag and then pulled out a pokeball. "So now I'm supposed to-"

Before he could finish, the ralts reached up and tapped the button on the pokeball and disappeared in a flash of light. The ball didn't shake at all before clicking.

You patted Wally on the shoulder. "Good job! You caught your first pokemon."

Wally grinned, then held the pokeball over his head. "Yes! It's my first pokemon! Thank you!" He lowered the pokeball and held it tightly. "Let's go back to the gym."
