Teleporter Entrance

Well, a sentry gun would be cool, but it had the potential to instantly turn around and kill you, which wouldn’t be all that cool. How about a dispenser? …Boring! What would it do, sit there and spit out some ammo and bandaids? No, the clear choice of what to build first had to be the teleporters! Imagine totally eliminating your annoying commute, instantaneously moving from point A to point B with the marvels of technology!

You select the teleporter entrance on the PDA, pressing the center button to confirm your choice. The display subtracts the metal cost, and a red metal toolbox appears right where the hologram indicated. It immediately started to unfurl itself, extending its arms until it laid flat on the ground. You watched in fascination as it finished setting up, expecting the arms to start spinning and create a red platform of light. But as it laid still, you realized that it wouldn’t spin-up unless the teleporter exit was built too, duh!

Selecting the teleporter exit on the PDA, you were just about to press the button again, but you stopped yourself. Hold on, if you made the exit in your bedroom, wouldn’t you have to move it later? Like, in the game buildings didn’t just move automatically, the engineer had to pick it up himself and haul them by hand. Maybe it would be a better idea to go to your destination first, bring the PDA, and build the exit over there.

Oh yeah, now that you were thinking about it, what would make a good destination? You could choose somewhere you needed to travel to regularly, but also somewhere entirely different. You could fly to another country and set it up there maybe! Unlimited vacation whenever you want! With that kind of power, you could become an entrepreneur, selling instant travel from one side of the world to the other at a fraction of the time and price! But then again, it probably wasn’t a good idea to show this to the public, much less try to make money off of it. Still though, where did you want to set up the exit?
