Telemarketing

Matt flipped through job listings, left swiping almost all of them because they were obvious scams 'Make $10,000 a week stuffing envelopes,' 'get in on the latest franchise offer,' 'the next McDonnalds,' that kind of thing. He right-swiped one. '$20 an hour plus commissions. Must be attractive female.'

The 'attractive female' fit but he was pretty sure most jobs weren't allowed to advertise for that. Unless they were some sort of sexually oriented business. But he figured his mom could make great tips at a place like Hooters if that's what this was.

He clicked it to apply, entered her information and added a photo he'd taken of her a year earlier all dressed for work and professional.

He'd left-swiped a couple of dozen more scams when his mother's phone chimed.

"Hello."

"Yes, this is Kat."

"Yes, I'm available for work. Uh, yeah, I can set up a Skype." She hung up.

"They want to Skype me now. I don't have a clue."

"I'll turn on the PC, mom," Karen said. "We can home it through my phone. I'll show you."

Karen and Matt hid out of camera view when the Skype call came in.

"Hello Kat. I'm Emily." The voice sounded young and hot. "I understand you're looking for work."

"Yes. I'm thinking about a career change."

Good work, mom. Never admit you're unemployed or especially that you were just fired.

"We're not allowed to describe our activities in the job boards but it's like telemarketing."

"I don't think I'd like to call up strangers and--"

"Not that kind of telemarketing. The clients will come to you."

"I don't understand."

"We masturbate online."

"What! I couldn't do--"

"Before you blow us off, Kat, let me summarize our benefits. You can set your own hours. You can work from your home. We guarantee the $20 an hour but most of our girls make much more."

"I don't think--"

"You're an attractive woman... a MILF-type that we need more of because we have college girls coming out our ass, if you want to know the truth and there are a lot of guys who like something that looks like it had a thought in the world once. Now, this isn't for everyone so I'm fine with you giving it some thought but, just in case, I'll send the details to you on the e-mail you provided."

"Uh, thank you."

"You will need a better camera, though. That thing on your PC definitely doesn't show you at your best."

"Thanks, Emily. I'll think about it."

She hung up and whirled on Matt. "What the hell?"
