Team up?

Rolan then explained his viewpoint on how he can see their names, levels and how much hp they have etc including his memory loss.

Of course while Laira looked irate at him knowing things about her, Valerie however seemed fascinated.

“You poor soul, well regardless I believe you showing up as you did means that fate brought you here for a reason. Mr. Runnald, it would be my privilege and honor to assist you until you regain your memories.”

Rolan did like Valerie’s sincerity and smiled gratefully but Laira just scoffed as she looked miffed like usual.

“You okay over there?”

She narrowed her eyes and stuck a middle finger at him but said nothing. He just rolled his eyes at her before he decided to talk to the only person who would actually hold a conversation.

“So where are we anyway?”

Valerie sighed before answering him.

“I don’t rightly know, the recollection of my memories only took me as far back as when I went straight to sleep during nighttime. I then woke up alone in this cave system at a dead end with only my personal staff on hand when I happened across Ms. Hunter being attacked by these lizard monsters as I left one way and well…”

She then motioned towards him which he immediately understood.

Rolan then looked down in thought before making an exclamation.

“This is probably going to sound cliche but I think we need to team up to get out of this cave.”

“I also..” “No thanks, jerk off.”

The two looked to Laira as she spoke up for the first time now.

“I ain’t trusting anybody that suddenly shows up claiming anything righteous or dealing with amnesia. I don’t trust you two and you shouldn’t trust each other either so Puss off with this team up crap.”

She then turned away as she went a different direction towards another tunnel.

Rolan could only shrug as Valerie looked disappointed.

The two despite meeting the first time seemingly had the right idea to team up however and then decided to go their own way.

But given that there were only 4 openings that connected to this particular area, it made sense that since the two knew which tunnels they came out of would mean that the way Laira just went through would likely be the best start since she likely wouldn’t go back to the one she originally came from if her’s was a dead end too.

As they went to follow the gang member’s trail, a large booming sound far up ahead came out of nowhere. The two looked to each other and went to check out what happened.

Finding themselves in another even larger chamber; the now badly damaged and bleeding red haired gang member was holding her now limp right arm as she was trying to avoid swings from a giant rock monster.

Valerie had suddenly gained a bit of courage as she ran past a shocked Rolan to quickly save Laira.

“AQUA WAVE!!”

The mage activated another spell conjuring a large ocean wave that seemed to push against the Stone Golem.

‘That did something but there’s no way they’ll get away in time.’

Rolan then noticed the monster golem was already back on the war path as it was now focused on the mage holding onto the woman who’s failing to push her away. A two in one deal you could say…

Seriously though, they could for real die.

Clutching his club, Rolan took a deep breath and ran to distract the thing. Getting close to one of the legs, he bashed at it dealing only about 2 HP. The thing did turn to look at him with its bright red eyes.

Then he aimed a FIRE SHOT at the things eye lights which surprisingly caused it to lose 14 HP so at least a possible weakness was found.

Needing to keep distracting it without either being hurt, (excusing Laura’s condition) he motioned to Valerie to get them out of the chamber.

Valerie would’ve argued that if not for him showing a determined looked that said ,“I’ll be fine, believe me.” and her fellow cave dweller in serious trouble.

She did as he motioned and left him to his fight, alone…

He held his club at the ready to try and find a way to stun or incapacitate the monster. He knew he couldn’t kill it but if there was a way to keep it back for just enough time…

But of course, the monster stared bringing its arm back ready to pound him into the ground. He would’ve thought to run under its legs quickly but as luck would have it, it suddenly stopped moving as if held in place.

“Wait, why did it stop.”

Then without warning, a blue screen appeared in his face.

“Because we at Gaia Corp made time stop just to save you Rolan Stein Runnald now given the job and role of THE GAMER!”
