Team Meeting

Inside the guild, my party was sat at a table. Sofia had a strange stain on her robes, while Lucille had a sack full of supplies. They were both already drinking at the tavern portion of the guild. I went over to them and sat in the last remaining chair.

“Who’s that, Flynn?” Sofia asked.

“He’s our employer’s-” I began.

“I am Reinfast De Vasquez, heir to House Vasquez, future chancellor of Regnica.” he bragged, giving a big smile.

“-son.” I finished, ignoring him. “He’s a level 8 High Knight, so apparently his dad wants him to do most of the work, we’re just here to make sure he doesn’t get himself killed.”

“Ah, makes sense,” Sofia said. “My name is Sofia, I’m a level 4 pyromancer.”

“And I’m Lucille, a level 4 Paladin.” she said.

“A pleasure. It seems not all commoners are cut from the same cloth. These two beauties were cut from fine velvet,” Reinhart chuckled, pulling up a chair from a nearby table.

“What does that even mean?” I asked, deadpanned. “Anyway, what did the two of you find out?”

“I’ll start,” Sofia said. “I talked to the gravedigger who works in the graveyard, and he said he was attacked by a group of undead. Apparently he though he saw something commanding them, but he couldn’t tell what. From my guess, it’d have to be either a necromancer or a lich. Both pretty dangerous, but at least a necromancer would be mortal. The more powerful lich tend to be immortal.”

“I went to spend the advance to obtain supplies. At the armory, I obtained three silver daggers for...uh...the three of us,” said Lucille, not knowing what to do about the sudden inclusion of a fourth wheel.

“Go on,” I said before Reinfast could interrupt.

“After that, I visited the Church of Esther in the lower quarter to obtain some holy water, which he gave me for free, since I am a Paladin. So we have thirty vials of holy water...ten each...” she looked awkwardly at Reinfast again before continuing. “Lastly, I visited an alchemist in the upper quarter’s Merchant’s Ward and bought several healing potions after haggling the price down, giving us nine potions...three each...”

“Nice work, Lucille.” I praised. “We should talk about how to divvy up the equipment next.” I glanced at Reinfast.

“Such measly tools shan’t be required for me. A few undead are no issue to one such as I.” Reinfast declared. I waved over one of the barmaids, suddenly requiring a drink.

“Yes sir, what can I get for you?” The blonde haired waitress asked.

“Four shots of whiskey, please.” I said, handing her a pair of silvers. “Keep the tip.”

“Thank you! Coming right up,” she said, her round ass bouncing as she walked away to the bar.

“You’re ordering us drinks? I still haven’t finished mine yet,” said Sofia, pointing to her half full beer.

“No. These are for me. I’m gonna need them.” I said.
