Teacher's Pet (Innocent)

I stood in the office, waiting to be given my schedule. It seemed as if the secretary had better things to do than give me my schedule, so I was doing my best to wait patiently. As I was waiting, a girl I assumed was probably a senior as well approached me. “I’m Rose. I can help show you around the school.”

The girl has what I assumed was natural auburn colored hair with some dark pink highlights. I wasn’t sure what I thought of the style or the color mixture, but it was done well for what it was. I had to give her that.

“I’m Violet. I’m just waiting to receive my schedule. It’s very nice to meet you.”

“You as well,” Rose said as she walked around to the other side of the desk. She looked through some papers and then handed me one of them. “This is your schedule. Sorry about the secretary, she’s probably only got a few months left before she’s out for a while since she’s nearing giving birth.”

I followed Rose as we left the office. She started to give me a tour of the school and let me know about some things that she at least considered important for me to know before I started attending the school.

While she was doing that, I was looking over my schedule. I had seven classes that I would be attending each day. I wasn’t the worst student, but I also wasn’t the best student. I knew I needed to prioritize things if I was going to survive. I needed to figure out which class needed the most of my attention and which ones I could put less effort into and still do a decent job at.

My schedule:

1st period – Geography

2nd period – Literature

3rd period – History

4th period – Trigonometry

Lunch

5th period – Chemistry

6th period – Gym

7th period – German
