Talk to one of the women
You nod to a slim red haired woman seated at a cluttered desk. It’s covered with little plastic collectible figurines from some childish animated show. Clearly she does most of her work in IVR. It takes her a moment to register your presence and she removes her IVR headset to reveal dazzling green eyes.
“Hi. I’m Miriam O’Bryn. You’re new here aren’t you?” She says, her voice rolling with an Irish accent. She smiles and her freckled dimples make her look girlish.
“Hello. I’m...” You nearly said Gerald, “Sophie. Sophie Carruthers. Mr Smith’s new secretary.” You introduce yourself.
“Oh. Mr Smith. Congratulations,” Miriam says reaching out and squeezing your hand affectionately. “So you know, Amy, Mr Smith’s old secretary was a little put out when she was moved back to admin support.” You feel like this might be a bit of a warning. “Well, I’ll probably end up showing you around the office after you check in with Mr Smith.”
