Talk To People

The reporter slid back into the crowded club. The phone in her ass was a constant presence, but not an unwelcome one. The stimulation helped bring clarity to her mind, and let her focus on doing what she had set out to do in the first place, long before she had gone into that bathroom and been subject to Blaze's strange sexual torment and demonic transformations.

Plus, she had one more clue: Blaze had been quite clear that she hadn't been behind it all. That meant somebody was snatching young women from this club without her knowing...and Lois Lane thought of Maria the barmaid, who had lined up six shots on the bar just for her. Which had sent the reporter staggering and drunk into the toilets.

What if I hadn't gone straight to the bathroom? Lois wondered. Would somebody have started to chat me up...maybe guide me toward a back room, or try to take me home with them?

It was a nasty thought...but such things happen. Lois eyed Maria across the room as she tended bar. The reporter smiled and pretended to have a good time. Her eyes and ears were open as she skirted the edge of the dance floor. Snatches of conversation came to her, but she looked for people that might be regulars...who might notice certain things...and found some likely targets in a dark corner table, near enough to hear the DJ but away from the dance floor.

A waitress was bringing them beer. Lois smiled, swished, stepped, flung out her hips...

The impact didn't do the waitress any harm, but the beers went crashing to the floor.

"I am so sorry!" Lois said, the very picture of sincere regret. "Please, let me pay for your drinks. I'm Lois by the way..."

Within ten minutes, Lois was sitting at their table, chatting away. Fresh beers came, and a bottle of Johnny Walker Black Label; the waitress got a generous tip, and her new friends Joanna and James were happy to talk to Lois about anything...

Which is when the phone rang.
