Take your chances with the mouther

Your hatred of Frankenstein's treachery is too great to allow you to surrender. Besides, he'll probably just kill you or turn you into one of those plant women. Not much honor in either fate.

"I'll never surrender to you, traitor," you spit at Frankenstein. "I'd rather die fighting."

"Pity," says Frankenstein with a shake of his head. "I always admired your intelligence, Professor. We could have made an unstoppable team."

With a wave of his hand, the elderly doctor releases his psychic hold on the immense amphibian.

"I'll enjoy watching your final battle," says Frankenstein, folding his arms across his chest.

You turn your attention to the gigantic creature as it whips its slimy tentacle-tongue with excitement. It lashes a clawed hand at you and you leap aside, splashing into waist-deep water. It attacks again before you can regain your senses. A claw swoops at your head. You are only just able to dive beneath the water to elude the attack.

You kick off the edge of the pond and propel yourself deeper, the mouther a giant presence blurred by the water's surface. Suddenly something wraps around you and stops you forward motion with a gasp of bubbles. You look down and see the mouther's tongue, tight around your waist. It yanks you violently from beneath the water and you emerge with a gasp, dripping, lifting into the air towards the mouther's yawning maw full of barbed teeth. It is so huge and stinking. You can see pieces of meat wedged in-between wicked fangs. Its gullet opens and closes with anticipation.

If you are going to survive you have to time this perfectly. You can kick the mouther in one of its stalked eyeballs or try to brace its mouth open with your arms and legs. You will only have one chance at this, so you had better choose carefully.
