The problem with being so far out in space, almost 200 AU from Earth, is that travelling and transport take a while; even with technological improvements in space travel it's still several months trip (anything from 3 to 8 months, depending on the positions of the planets along their orbits around the sun) from Earth to Vega. Therefore, certain areas such as clothing are going to lag behind what's trendy. The clothes on display, from cutesy summer dresses to full-faux-leather space suits, have already enjoyed their time in the sun on Earth- but it doesn't stop people from wearing them. The regular cheap stuff are usually printed out from a 3D loom, but nothing can beat the quality of an expert craftsman- although most of the time when a tag says "handmade" what they mean is machine made, and a child sweatshop worker attaches some buttons or sews a piece together, making it "handmade" and quintuple the price.

You jump in surprise and yelp as suddenly a mannequin-droid walks right past you. They have an uncanny valley look about them, with their blank faces and stiff movements- they're creepy and you're sure you're not the only one who thinks so. Why they haven't made them less creepy you have no idea. Maybe it's just cheaper. This one in particular is wearing a dress that makes a christmas tree look like a smooth orb, combined with a paint factory accident.

You turn to leave, which causes one of the droids to wave and tell you 'have a nice day!'. It's not even looking at you!
