Take the Mask With her. It Would be Safest With...

Realizing that anyone could find the mask in her house, Hinata decided that keeping the mask on her person would be the best way to keep it safe. With that, she put the mask in a back pack that she could keep close with her. Making sure she had all her gear and the mask were secure, Hinata made her way out of the clan compound an over to where the village was under attack. She saw smoke coming from the gate and began to run.

Hinata ran to the gate and was shocked at what she saw. Many of her fellow Leaf ninja were scattered about, some injured, others knocked ****. At the center of it all Hinata could make out what appeared to be their current Hokage Kakashi, fighting with a man in a white cloak, slivery white hair, and what appeared to have small horns from his head. Kakashi and the man were caught in a virtual stalemate. Hinata was amazed that there was someone that could match Kakashi in strength.

Kakashi couldn't believe his luck. After the Forth Great Ninja War, the leaf village was low on new ninja recruits and had to spread its forces a little thin. Luckily it was a time of relative peace, so need ninja weren't exactly great. Recently there had been a strange number of attacks happening around the elemental nations, and many villages were low on forces, so Kakashi had sent out a lot of their current Leaf ninja to assist. Unfortunately, this left the village understaffed and left him in the predicament he was currently in with many of the Leaf's stronger and more prominent ninja out of the village on missions and it left both Sakura and Tsunade to attend to the injured. Throughout the fight, Kakashi had learned that his opponent was a failed clone experiment of Orochimaru to create someone based on that of the Ootsutsuki clan. Once the clone had realized its power though, it quickly abandoned Orochimaru and began to go on a rampage due to his power making him mentally unstable. He was strong, and had no control over his power. He eventually made is way to the Leaf village in search of Naruto or Sasuke, wanting to kill them to prove he was strongest being around. Now the clone was attacking the village trying to find out their whereabouts.

Kakashi knew the Ootsutsuki were strong, but this man was on another level. Kakashi was barely able to keep up with him and knew he would reach his limit soon. In the corner of his eye, Kakashi saw Hinata arrive to the fight. Hinata saw the man engaged with Kakashi, and activated her Byakugan. She saw the man had an enormous amount of chakra and strange chakra network. Thinking he was distracted, Hinata charged in with idea of disabling his chakra points. She noticed he was building chakra up in his body and realized he was about to let off something powerful. Just as she was about to land a blow, he released a powerful chakra based shock-wave (Similar to the Shinra Tensei that Pein used). This knocked both Hinata and Kakashi back hard into some of the surrounding buildings. Hinata was bruised and in pain. She had her leg pinned under some rubble as well leaving her immobilized. She looked over and saw Kakashi was barely conscious.

All seemed bleak. If Kakashi couldn't defeat this monster, and both Naruto and Sasuke were away from the village, who would be strong enough to defeat him? It would take someone of similar power to defeat him. It was then something dawned upon Hinata. It would take a power similar to Kaguya to defeat him. She thought about the mask. It it really did grant the wearer its power, maybe she could use it to defend the village. She knew of the terrible power it possessed, and she told Naruto she would keep it safe, but there wouldn't be any point if there was no village left when he returned. She was torn on what to do. She saw the man making his way towards Kakashi with what looked like a make shift blade in his hand. Realizing there wasn't any time to fret over it, Hinata made up her mind. She would wear the mask and become Kaguya to save the village. She thought as long as she could remove it after she would be fine and able to return to normal.

With new resolve Hinata went to grab the mask from her backpack...
