Take my emotions

Jamie looked at her. ‘Are you sure? I mean, I don’t want to make you a shell, do I?’ Ashley just shrugged. ‘Whatever, just for a minute, you can put it back any time you want, can’t you? I just wanna know what it’s like not feeling anything, y’know?’

‘I guess.’

Jamie searched through her head and found a big, solid block. He pulled with all his might and it gave away. For Ashley this felt like having a really bad migraine. Then it felt like her head was swirling in a toilet bowl and then it felt like….nothing. Nothing at all. She looked around the car and, nothing. She looked at Jamie and at his shocked expression. She didn’t feel any different than when she was looking at the road, or a passing car.

Jamie looked into her eyes. Tried to find any life within them. Nothing. It felt like looking into the eyes of a mannequin. They were there, they could see, but nothing cared enough to look out of them. Her posture hadn’t changed, but again, it felt unnatural. Like some life put them into these shapes before, and they just stayed like that.

‘Ashley?’

‘Yes?’ She replied in a monotone voice.

‘How do you feel?’

‘There is nothing to feel Jamie.’ Once again monotonous.

‘But, hold on, you still have your memories don’t you?’ He said with concern.

‘Yes.’

‘Ok so remember when you met me?’

‘Yes. I also remember eating toast for breakfast.’

‘But, which memory do you prefer?’

‘They are completely equal in preference to me.’

Jamie was starting to get unnerved now. He was going to change her back, but. He could explore this emotionless person a bit more.
