Chapter 3 by nickkorneev22 nickkorneev22

What's next?

Take it seriously

You arrived at the restaurant a few minutes before your reservation, feeling nervous and excited all at once. As you walked through the door, you saw Charlie waiting for you at the table, looking stunning in a sleek black dress that hugged her curves. Her hair was styled in loose waves, and she had a touch of red lipstick on her lips that made them look even more inviting. Your heart skipped a beat as you approached her, and you couldn't help but smile at how beautiful she looked.

"Hi Alex," she said, standing up to give you a hug.

"Hi Charlotte," you replied, feeling a jolt of electricity run through you as your bodies touched. "You look amazing tonight."

"Thank you, you look pretty handsome yourself, Alex" she said with a smile.

You sat down at the table, and you felt a sense of relief wash over you as the waiter handed you the menus. Charlotte ordered a glass of red wine, and you followed her lead, hoping it would calm your nerves. You made some small talk about the menu, and you learned that Charlotte was a bit of a foodie, and loved trying new dishes.

As you perused the menu, you couldn't help but steal glances at her. She was so poised and confident, and you couldn't believe you were sitting here with her. You felt like you were in a dream, and you didn't want it to end.

You finally decided on your orders, and as you waited for your food, you chatted about your interests and hobbies. You learned that Charlie was an avid traveler, and had been to many exotic locations around the world. You shared your own love of writing, and she listened attentively, asking questions about your favorite authors and genres.

As your appetizers arrived, you found yourself relaxing a bit, and you started to joke around and laugh more freely. You talked about your families, and you shared some stories about your step-sister, Bella, and her struggles with addiction. Charlie listened with compassion, and shared her own experiences with helping friends and family members through tough times.

Your main course arrived, and you were impressed by the beautiful presentation of the dishes. You ordered the salmon, and Charlotte ordered a steak. As you ate, you continued your conversation, and you felt like you were really connecting. She was so easy to talk to, and you found yourself opening up to her in a way you never had with anyone else.

After you finished your meal, you ordered dessert and coffee, and continued to chat and laugh. You felt like you were in a bubble with her, and nothing else mattered. You didn't want the night to end, but you knew it had to eventually.

As you finished your coffee, Charlie looked at you with a smile. "Alex, I had a really great time tonight. Thank you for taking me out."

"I had a great time too, Charlotte," you replied, feeling a rush of warmth spread through your body. "Would you like to do it again sometime?" You didn't even think twice, the words just flowing out of your mouth before you realized what you did.

She hesitated for a moment, and you felt your heart drop. Had you said something wrong?

"Yes, I would like that," she said finally, her eyes meeting yours. "But before we make any plans, there's something I need to tell you."

You felt a sense of dread wash over you. What could she possibly have to tell you that would ruin this perfect evening?

Choice:

A: Ask her what it is she needs to tell you.

B: Tell her you're not ready to hear whatever it is and end the night.
