Chapter 6 by nickkorneev22 nickkorneev22

What's next?

Take it easy

The next day, you decided to take things slow and see where things would go with Charlotte. You were working your shift at the coffee shop when she walked in, looking as radiant as ever. You felt a flutter in your chest as she approached you.

"Hey there," she said with a warm smile. "I didn't expect to see you here."

You returned the smile. "Really? Where did you expect me?"

"After last night, hm, who knows?" She giggles, bringing back the memory of your incredible sex the night before.

"So what can I get for you?" you asked, trying to stop the growing boner in your pants at work.

You made small talk as you prepared her coffee, and you felt a sense of ease around her that you hadn't felt in a long time. As she sat down to enjoy her drink, you took your break and sat across from her.

You talked for what seemed like hours. You felt a connection with her that you hadn't felt in a long time. It was refreshing to talk to someone who understood you and who you could be yourself around. You had to end your break eventually, and Charlotte finished her coffee and left for her usual business.

Later, a girl walked into the coffee shop, catching your attention. She was tall and had a bright smile on her face as she walked up to the counter. You couldn't help but notice her striking eyes and long brown hair.

"Hi, can I get a latte please?" she asked, pulling out her wallet.

You prepared her drink and handed it to her, trying not to stare too much. She caught you looking, though, and flashed you a smile.

"Thanks," she said before walking over to a table.

You remembered something Charlotte said once. "You never know who you might meet and how they could impact your life." Maybe she was right, and you should be open to new experiences and people.

As you walked past the girl's table on your way out, she looked up and smiled again. "Hey, thanks for the latte. It's really good," she said.

You smiled back, feeling a little more confident. "No problem. I'm glad you like it."

You struck up a conversation, and before you knew it, you had been talking for hours. Her name was Avery. You were fascinated by her intelligence and her passion for helping others. As Avery and you sat across from each other, sipping your coffee, you couldn't help but feel captivated by her. She had an infectious smile that made you feel at ease, and her intelligence was apparent from the moment she started speaking.

"So what do you do for work?" Avery asked, taking a sip of her coffee.

"I work here, actually," you replied with a chuckle. "Just trying to pay the bills."

Avery nodded, looking thoughtful. "I know the feeling. I work as a nurse, and it can be pretty demanding at times."

You raised your eyebrows in surprise. "Really? That's impressive. What made you want to become a nurse?"

Avery shrugged, looking a little bashful. "I've always just had a passion for helping people. It sounds cheesy, I know, but it's true."

You shook your head, smiling. "No, that's not cheesy at all. That's amazing, actually. It takes a special kind of person to do what you do."

Avery smiled, looking pleased. "Thank you. I really love it. It's challenging, but it's also incredibly rewarding."

The two of you talked for what felt like hours, discussing everything from your favorite books to your hopes and dreams. You found yourself opening up to her in a way that you hadn't done in a long time. There was something about her that just made you feel comfortable.

As you finished your coffee, Avery stood up to leave. "It was really nice talking to you," she said, flashing you a smile. "Maybe we can do this again sometime?"

You smiled back, feeling a little giddy. "Yeah, I would like that."

As she walked out the door, you couldn't help but feel a little more hopeful about the future. Maybe Charlotte was the one on your mind, but there was something about Avery that made you feel like anything was possible.
