Chapter 6 by neoas neoas

What's next?

Take her offer of a new life and body.

You agree to Jessica's terms, and suddenly black out. When you wake up, you are on the floor in the attic, and still wearing the same clothes you were before. You don't know why she got your hopes up, but maybe that was her task all along.

As you get up from the floor, you feel a bit weaker than normal. You look around the room, and notice a body hanging from the ceiling joist. You get closer and notice it's wearing the same clothes you are. Then you see it's face, and realize that it's your face!

You scream in horror, but scare yourself even more to the sound your voice made. That wasn't your voice at all! You turn around, and face a mirror. That's not you in the mirror, it was Jessica!

Your mother comes running up to the attic, after hearing your screams. She falls faint when she sees your dead body. You run over to her to make sure she's alright, and she is still breathing.

Why did Jessica do this? You check under your shirt for the amulet, but it was gone. Evidently, wherever she was going, she didn't need a body anymore. She didn't lift the curse from you, but she at least made it manageable. Living Jessica's life, you could still have good friends and a normal life.

You then think about how you have no idea how to live like her, but then memories of her life start rushing through your head. You then remember that you were supposed to call your friends about going to the mall. You were going to have to cancel the mall plans because of your "dead brother", but you think that Jessica made good on her end of the bargain. Now you can live her life without question.

You still are you, no question. You remember everything from your previous body, and still enjoy the same things. Now, you know what Jessica like, and why she like them as well. This way, there is no transition to becoming Jessica, you can just be her.

As the weeks go by, your friends notice a bit of a change in your personality, but you explain to them that your step-brother's **** made you look at life differently, just as when your father died. They understand fully, and continue to be great friends of yours through the remainder of your life.
