Chapter 30

What do you do with her?
Take her back (no sex)
Her teal eyes flash with pervisions. A sly grin spreads at her lips. “Yes, take me home~ I like the sound of that.”
Your eyes advert. How could she think you were going to take advantage of her? She places her lips on yours, dragging her tongue along yours. Her saliva is all hinted with her last alcoholic drink. You push her back and glare at her. "Delilah, you're not yourself right now. Calm down."
Even in her wasted state, she was able to pick the seriousness behind your words. She started to a look ashamed of her actions. She nods and apologizes once she retains a little more of usual self. She walks with you out are the door and then towards her place. The rest of the walk is in general silence. The buzz you felt while drinking had long faded - your brain now festered inside your skull as you start wishing you didn't let Delilah get this out of control. You look over at her as you step up to her front door.
"C-an...Can..." she clears her throat. "Can you stay?"
The rosy color of her cheeks remain, but the innocence in her voice returns. "Only if you want me to."
She kneels down and sighs. You can see her moving one of the pots aside to reveal a small brass colored key. "I'd really appreciate the company, Warren."
"I can stay and watch over you," you chase her comment. "As long as you're...you are yourself at least."
She replies with a small chuckle before she darts back up. "I think I'm coming back to it now." She plugs the key into the lock and twists as she pushes the door open. She pokes in, scanning the room carefully. She sneaks in and gestures you to follow her inside. She reaches for a light switch, flooding the room in a gentle light that quickly dims.
You follow Delilah into what looks like a living room. Her cat stirs briefly and leaves as soon as it sees the two of her. Delilah makes a few kissy-noises to make her pet stay, but it doesn't seem to interested in doing so. She lets out another dry chuckle as she falls into the plush couch against the wall. "Don't mind Richard, he doesn't like new people."
She watches you enter her living room for the first time. You fall into the couch and nod to her. "He's probably upset we interrupted his sleeping schedule."
"Hm. Yeah probably." She says flatly, trailing off as does her eyes.
Your tongue clicks. She looks different now that she's sat down. "I haven't seen you drink that much before. You feeling alright?"
She rocks back and forth in the couch, forcing a smile. "I'm...So not happy with my life, Warren. I hate it here and I'm terrified of dying here alone." She covers her face and leans into her knees.
"I fucking hate this place. Every God damn person I see and work with is such a task. I gotta get out here but I have no place to go."
Yee. This wasn't what you expected when you poked at her. "Ah. Jeez, Delilah. Where'd that come from?"
"I'm just throwing it all out tonight - I know if I'm not gonna say anything like this when I've sobered up... I need your help. I can't stay here any more. I'm going to blast the back of my head open if I have to stay here another month." Her face is still covered. Her voice isn't breaking - it sounds more **** than anything else. "I wanted to prove a point to my folks that I didn't need them and ran off the first chance I got. I had so many people help me along the way my first year, but the last guy I was with was...Well, he wanted my body more than me."
"When I rejected his advances, he took me here and ran off over night with someone else that he had found. Some crazy slut that couldn't travel out of here alone. He and I didn't have anything special, he wasn't my type. Big talker, but never shared much about his life. A player that had a greater itch for sex than anything else he wanted. Money, fame, travel - just wanted women and I didn't...sigh didn't give in to his desires. Once he realized he was gonna have to **** himself on me, he didn't want me anymore. Used the piss-poor excuse that he fed and protected me when he knew I couldn't pay or offer anything other than company."
She's silent for a moment. You think she's waiting for you to answer, but instead she leans back into the couch and blinks a few times. A cold, empty expression is laid upon her face as she stares at the wall across from her. "I realize I'm fortunate that he wasn't a **** or...or some kind of trader that dealt in some kind of sick market, but I felt so abandoned after he left. I didn't think I was gonna find any one else I could like, led alone love and enjoy being around." She looks at you.
"I'm asking a lot out of you," she admits. "Too much out of someone I don't know that well."
She scoots herself closer to you and grabs your hands. "But, I know you feel it too. There's something special between the two of us. You aren't that man I traveled with - you aren't like anyone that has been in my life. I know you can feel that about me too. I can't be THAT love sick, can I?!"
You squeeze her hands. You start to feel guilty for what you did not all that long ago with Maise at the store or some of the other stuff you've done since getting to this location. There's no denying her words - you do feel something for her, but perhaps she deserves better? She sucks her lips and narrows her eye borrows.
"Answer me!" she shouts, brushing your sense of smell with ****.
"You know what I do for a living Delilah. I don't want to make any promises to you I can't keep." You tell her this, making her lips bend into a frown, but you quickly make it to the second part of your sentence. "But I'm gonna try to do everything in my power to make it possible for you to leave here. I just don't know how it'll work."
She swallows and wraps herself around you. "Just knowing that you're willing try means so much to me..."
Delilah exhales, closing her eyes. "I'm scared. I can't describe it."
You hold her back. "Don't be. I'm here with you right now. As long as I'm here, I'm gonna try my best to keep you safe, yeah?"
She coughs slightly, laughing. "I...miss my parents. I want to see them again."
"I'm sure they miss you too." Her breathing softens. You expect her to continue, but she does not. "Delilah?"
You look down and see her eyes of closed. She's fallen asleep. You lay her on the couch and explore some of her house and carry her to her bed. Once you lay her down and cover her in blankets, you step out of her room and turn off the lights before you return to the couch to sleep there too. Stuck with runaway, huh? You think about the subject for so long you take it with you into your dreams as you fall asleep that night. A heavy subject like that deserves to have some thought put into it, no matter what you're doing or where you are...
