Take a chance, she seems to like you

"Yeah I'm lucky my parents never got divorced, not yet anyway," he said trying to relate to her. "Where did you live before this?"

"We used to live in Tucson. My mom asked me where I wanted to move in the entire country, but I love the desert too much to move anywhere else." She said as a fondness appeared in her eye. "What about you? What brought you to Bladmore?"

It was time to make his move, he thought to himself. "My dad got transferred from Maine." he said as he shifted in his chair and stretched out his right foot until his right shoe was pressing gently up against her left shoe. It was very noticeable, but could easily have been seen as an accident.

Jack felt her foot tense up for a split second, but it didn't move. She hesitated for a second, "Wow that's a long way to move," she said catching he breath again, trying to hide her limited excitement. It made Jack wonder if she had never been in a relationship either. "Did you leave anyone special behind?"

"What like a girlfriend? No, " he said, hoping she'd love the opportunity to go out with him. "My sister left behind her boyfriend Vince, but I just had a few distant friends, so it wasn't a big deal. "What about you? Did you leave anybody behind?"

"Just my best friend Emily, but we usually Skype every night so we're still really close."

"Oh okay, So did you ever have a nickname in high school?" he said trying to progress the conversation without being awkward. "I went lobster trapping with my dad when I was younger so they called me lobster boy."

"Aww, that's kinda cute though. There are worse things you could have been called," she said jokingly as a smile appeared on her face.

"Oh yeah? like what?" he said trying to carry on the joke.

"Well for a few years in high school I was called Gr-...." she stopped talking all of a sudden and looked down at her phone as her face flushed red again.

"Called what?" he asked excited about what wasn't said.

"No no no it's uh, waaay too embarrassing," she said trying to avoid this topic at all costs. "So how do you like the desert? I love the desert, I could never live in Maine, seems really depressing. Sorry if that offends you, I don't mean to offend, I just like the desert a lot. Sorry I'm rambling again." she said quickly as her red cheeks returned.

"Don't worry it's cute," Jack said, kind of hoping to make her blush even more. "But yeah I like it so far, I haven't been out there yet, but I would like to."

"Oh...um, thanks," she said blushing even more and looking down at her phone. Then looking back up at Jack. "You've got to go out in the desert, it's so beautiful at night."

No was Jack's chance to make a move. "Well give me your number so we can go sometime," he said hopefully

"Sure," she said as a smile appeared on her face. She took out a piece of paper and handed it to Jack.

Just then the bell for 3rd period rang.

They both stood up from their seats, they felt the welcome pressure of their shoes touching each other dissipate as they headed towards the door.

"It was nice to meet you Jack," she said as she turned down the hallway and walked to her locker.

"It was nice to meet you too!" Jack said as he looked at her ass for a second as she walked away, and the walked down the opposite hallway, ecstatic that he had gotten two girls numbers in one day.
