Take Piper out on a date

John didn't want to ruin his relationship with Piper. Even though he feels like she really isn't his girlfriend. The blonde bombshell is way out of his league. He knows Piper is just like Holly, a mean bitch. But she keeps calling him her boyfriend. He figured he'd take her out on a date. He texted her. "Hey Piper. How about dinner Friday? My treat."

She replied almost instantly: "Only if we go somewhere nice. And you wear that blue shirt I like." He agreed and felt a flutter of hope. Maybe things could be normal. Maybe he could forget Holly's mocking laugh.

Friday arrived humid and thick with cicadas screaming. John showed up early at La Petite Fleur, nervously smoothing his shirt. Piper appeared in a sundress that clung to her hips, smelling faintly of coconut sunscreen. They ordered wine her, a crisp Pinot Grigio, him, a beer he couldn't taste. Small talk felt like chewing glass, her talking about college life.

She mentions how their so many weak will men that goes to her college. "They're all so... compliant," she sighs, swirling her wine. "Not like Rich." Her eyes glaze over for a second. John’s fork clatters against his plate. Piper snaps back, flashing a too-bright smile. "Oh! But you’re different, Johnny. You’re my good boy." She reaches across, patting his hand like he’s a well-trained spaniel. The coconut scent turns cloying.

John knows if he truly wants her as his own girlfriend. Not a woman who get passes around like a blunt. He'll have to be more assertive with Piper.
