Chapter 20 by tantrikenetic tantrikenetic

Do you take her hand or do you have unfinished business first?

Take Her Hand. It's Done.

"I'm ready to get out of these breeches." You reply with a grin. "Let's blow this joint."

"Very well." Doe grabs your hand in her own. You feel her warmth radiate through your body. It's an ecstatic feeling, and you wish it would last forever. The world around you fades away until everything around you is white except for Doe. The cloak vanishes from sight, leaving her naked once more. You only get to eye for a moment, though, before she vanishes into whiteness as well.

The only witness to your involvement in the story is the princess Briar Rose, who never mentions you or your bird companion to anyone, although she is forever grateful to you for saving her. Along with her, everyone in the castle regained the flow of time and grew and aged as normal. The large thorny vines crumbled to dust and the ravens written into the story turned to black smoke. The guard found the body of the Deserter, but they simply buried him in the cemetery. Speaking of the guards, they found the new, very horny princess to be to their liking and she spent a lot of her time with them, making guard duty the best job in the kingdom. Eventually, she fell in love with on of the young guards she frequently requested, and with permission from her father, he was made to be a prince and the two were married.

And they all lived happily ever after.

As the white light fades, you find yourself back in the library, wearing your uniform instead of the princely getup. Doe is also back to her dressed state. She is holding the the book in her hand. As she regains her balance, she looks at you, then opens the book and reads the last page. She smiles and softly and closes the book.

"Good job, John." She said. "You fixed the story."

"You expected otherwise?" You ask, a little high on the power trip from your recent adventure.

"I was scared a couple times back there, but I'm glad I chose to trust you." She says. "You were obviously meant to help me. Our meeting must have been fate." She teeters on her feet for a moment, then leans in and kisses your cheek. "Thank you."

"Your welcome." You reply, grinning.

"Well then." She coughs and tries to hide the blush on her face. "Shall we choose a new book? We still have a pile left."

Ready for a new story? Or do you have something else in mind?
