TTT: Announcement--Mrs. Clemens Wins Top Turkey Teacher

Leah waited with dread anticipation for the intercom to break the quiet of her final class period that day. The warble of the speaker finally rang out, and the students in Leah's class instinctively hushed to listen.

"Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen," Mr. Sharpe's voice came through the speaker "I am glad to report the winner of this years Top Turkey Teacher!" He paused to build some anticipation "Congratulations to Mrs. Clemens! Excellent Job!" Just as quickly as it had come the intercom shut off. Leah's students all gave her a series of condolences and "You should have won" statements to comfort her.

Shortly after the announcements Mr. Sharpe presented Mrs. Clemens with a cheap golden spray painted Turkey for her to keep. A student of his took a picture that he would send to the central office. This would go in the local school paper and on the central office's website. Leah would get an email about it and when she did she would rage inside.
