THE LOOPER: THE VIRTUE AGAINST LADY SUNBURST - SAPPHIRE Part 1

“What the hell are you doing?” The two confronted each other.

Sapphire because her companions suddenly went missing, and Harvey because his equipment suddenly stopped working, his equipment was being turned off forcefully and he couldn’t seem to turn them back on.

“Answer me! I may look like this, but I am a superhero, I can kick your ass!” Sapphire tried to put a brave front as convincing as she could. She even put a fighting stance, but her clumsiness and fear was apparent. She was just a goth loner who spent her time browsing the internet. The most daring thing she did was hack some computer and phone with her power. Her life was monotonous, she thought with her having some superpower, she was destined for something better than rotting in her small room. But she had her fear, she was a survivor of a supervillain attack when she was a young girl. The attack caused a long lasting trauma for her, and made Sapphire shut herself. It took some convincing from Luna to make Sapphire gave a chance to chase her childhood dream again. Luna assured her that this operation would be safe because their target was a fellow superheroine. Even if there was a fight, it would not be a life-threatening fight. A superhero couldn’t severely harm other superheroes physically because it was against the Superhero’s law. Disregarding the rules would make said superheroes be labeled rogue and under the city’s monitoring in case that the superheroes turned coat and be a supervillain.

Sapphire never expected that she would meet a supervillain instead. Even though the man looked like a weak, skinny, nerdy boy, the man somehow made her companions vanish into thin air, so she deemed the man dangerous.

“Kick my ass? Girl, you are trembling like crazy. Are you really a superheroine?”

Facing him, her past trauma had resurfaced in the wrong moment, her heart palpitating and her body trembling.

“I am. This is my first day. But I am a superhero!” The goth girl said. She didn't know why she added that it was her first day as a superhero. With her nerve being on edge, she just said whatever was on the surface of her mind.

“First day as a superheroine? Not an official one I assume, so, how about making a deal with me?”

“A deal? What kind of deal?”

“First, I want you to look around.”

Sapphire looked around and finally noticed the weirdness of the room they were in. The wall and furniture were twisted like they were bent by invisible ****. The room looked normal when she first entered but now, it looked bizarre.

“What happened to this room? Is it your doing?” Sapphire asked the man warily.

“Partially me and partially yours. This should never have happened. But you somehow stopped my device in the middle of operation, so we are currently witnessing the quantum folding of space and time before reality settles into another iteration,” Harvey answered.

“Are you a reality bender?” Sapphire asked after hearing his explanation

“Not a full pledge one. If I am one, I wouldn’t be stopped by you. Right now, I’m more of a Reality adjuster that tweaks existing reality than a reality bender that can bend reality as they desire without limitation. So, my demand is one, revert whatever you are doing to my device here, and I will change one thing that you wish, It may be about you, or someone you know. How about it?”

“You seem to be a dangerous man, why should I believe a supervillain like you? What guarantee you will give me that you do not turn back on me and renege on your word after I return the control of your device.”

Harvey let out a sigh, “First, If you didn’t agree, soon, both of us will end up swallowed by the quantum folding and end up god knows somewhere beyond space and time, or we might even die from it. I believe your power is related to controlling technology, and usually the holder of this kind of power is at least a smart person, so you should know how dire our situation is. Second, I will not renege on my word, after all you can always stop me after we get to a safe place, you just need to do what you did before.”

“Okay, I get what you mean. But I will only agree if you tell me how your power works.” Sapphire replied.

“I tell you mine, you tell me how your power works, it’s only fair that way.” The man negotiated.

A few minutes later, Sapphire finally agreed after some contemplation. “Okay.”

“Have you ever heard the theory that this world is just a simulation?”

Sapphire nodded.

The man continued, “Everything in this world consists of numbers and strings, even an event was just an array of strings. My device lets me see and interact with them. If those numbers got changed, it would also change things in the physical world. I found out that I can make a simulation-like loop by changing the right array of strings. I can also insert new variables by changing some numbers that belong to a thing or person. I can reset the loop as much as I want until I get the result I wanted. Hence, I am called the Looper. The change I made will start local at first, only the people who are part of the event will be affected, those outside of said event will still remember thing as if before I tinker with reality, but the fabric of reality is something fascinating, it will do a retroactive self-correction to not make the whole reality crumble. Lady Sunburst was my first victim and guinea pig. You might not remember but she was a proper superheroine before, now, all people just remember her as a bimbo from the start. I’m done explaining my power, now it’s your turn to explain yours.”

“I am Webtalker. I can talk to computers or phones and make them do something for me. Well, it’s not only computers or phones, but any machine with a monitor, program, and connected to some kind of network. As long as they fulfill these criteria, I can talk to them, and they will obey me.”

_Fuck! _the man cursed in his mind. His tool filled all the three criteria. The girl is really a bad match-up for him. How very unlucky of him that he met a bad matchup so quickly.

“You have that kind of power, you can easily neutralize me, so you shouldn’t worry about me taking back my word. Now, can you turn on my device? Look! After our short talk, the quantum folding has started to approach us. We had no more time to spare.”

“Okay. Resume but you can’t send me away or harm me.” Sapphire used her power and commanded Harvey’s equipment to turn back on.

“Great!” Harvey could see the number floating all around him as his headgear turned back on. He quickly tinkers with those numbers to bring them to the start of the loop. He was tempted to send Sapphire away, and he tried it, but the moment he tried to, his headgear was issuing an error warning. He quickly gave up trying in fear that his equipment would stop working again. He couldn’t send her away or harm her, but there must be something he could do to turn the situation into his favor.

“And done.” He finished arranging the numbers. The twisted room turned back to normal. They were sent back in time to the start of the loop.

But Harvey’s problem had not ended yet. There was still the Webtalker girl who could turn his device off based on her whim.

Sapphire was just recovered from the dissociation caused by the reset. She looked around and found Lady Sunburst was playing with a dildo, not caring about Sapphire’s existence there at all. Sapphire was confused and also wary.

“Are you confused why Sunburst didn’t respond to your appearance? You don’t let me send you away, so I need to find a way to make your appearance here not causing any paradox or inconsistency in the loop. In the previous loop, you and your friend were looking for Lady Sunburst to apprehend her and **** her to repent, you don’t know me at all. But in this iteration, I make it that you already know me beforehand, we are acquaintances. You are here before your friend comes here to tell me about their plan,” Harvey explained.

“You make me a villain as yours?”

“Not necessarily one. Right now, your setting is someone who is standing in a junction. You can choose to go back to your group of friends as a superhero, or be my accomplice. It’s up to you.”

“I…”

“Wait, don’t be in a hurry to answer. I still owe you a request. I will not take back my word, you can tell me a thing you want to change, whether it is to change yourselves or changing your friend. You can choose to do good with your request or be selfish and use it for your own self-enjoyment. Look at Sunburst there, she looks so blissful, isn’t she? If you don't want to be a bimbo yourself, how about owning a few bimbo slaves on your own? Your friend, Sparkle and Luna, imagine the two as your slaves that are obedient to you.” Harvey tried to tempt Sapphire. He might not be able to harm her, thus, to turn the situation in his favor, he plans to recruit her to his camp. Thankfully, Webtalker only said that he couldn't harm her and not that he couldn't change her. He made some positive changes on her like being more open minded, more assertive, more honest to her attraction toward women.

Those positive changes ended up to be a poison to her mind. She was really considering his offer. Sparkle and Luna, those two hot ladies becoming slaves for her. She unconsciously ran her tongue around her lips. Being a shut-in goth loner she was, Sapphire spent many hours browsing porn as one of her few means of entertainment. “My own ideas?” Sapphire started to doubt herself.

The voice in her mind, the sweet, tempting, wicked voice grew stronger. Luna, think about her. You always find her cute, the moment she starts to get close to you, you start to develop a crush on her. But she is a conservative Japanese woman, she would never want to be with you in a normal way. There was also her friend, Fell, the sexy punk girl. You can choose to make a change on yourself and after that, you can leave the room to rendezvous with your friend, meanwhile, I will escape from this place. I guarantee that the three of you will not meet me again. I will also not tinker with this event anymore. Or, you can help me, our power, if used together will unlock greater potential. “How can I help you?” She asked.

“Talk to my equipment, if you can turn it off or put limitations on it, maybe you can unlock its potential and limitations.”

“Okay. I will try it. Help the man to make my wish come true. Remove all limitations as long as he uses it to help me.” Sapphire used her power on his equipment.

For Harvey, the effect of the girls’ power on his device was apparent, he felt like someone who just granted admin privilege on a computer, and finally could access the hidden, protected file. He could see more strings and numbers that weren’t there before. These newly appeared numbers and strings were mostly around Sapphire. They were related to her.

He got a sweet taste of the device’s potential but could only use it to improve the girl. But Harvey wasn’t displeased, he even sneered because his plan was stepping into the right direction. This time, Sapphire didn’t say that he couldn’t send her away or harm her. She was too absorbed in her lustful power fantasy.

He would make Sapphire powerful enough, but someone who he could control.

“And done.”

Reality rearranged as he finished tinkering with the invisible numbers.
