Chapter 7 by LucreArghena LucreArghena

How Does Breakfast Go?

Swell...

Prince Valn was getting impatient with his siblings as they interrogated him and General Vunfor about the night before. Questions about whether or not the Prince had slept well were welcomed. The questions about whether or not the two slept together were not. Sighing heavily while deflecting most questions, the Prince looked over at the General.

"If I had intended to sleep with him, I would not have asked Guard Trix to help me get him out of that situation. I wouldn't have entered into that situation myself, if I believed I would be unable to resist him in his state of duress. I would not wish to compromise His Highness in that way." Those words got the dining hall to quiet down and the Prince cleared his throat in discomfort.

"Then I believe it is settled," the Queen finally spoke as she leveled the General with a meaningful look. "Since Helrith will no longer be able to guard my son, and the royal Heirs of Gulres will be arriving during his next scheduled cycle, I would like to assign you to guard my son. That is, until a more suitable replacement can be found."

Caught off guard as he was the Prince couldn't stop himself from speaking against the idea.

"Surely he has better things to do than follow me around. Who'll train the soldiers while he's following me? It seems unnecce-"

"Valn! I suggest you apologize to General Vunfor as he saved you from being **** just last night." Shocked by her son's words the Queen's demand was spoken louder than she intended.

Clenching his fists the Prince stood and left the room quickly. He knew the castle better than most and knew how to avoid his mother and siblings with ease. So when he found himself pinned into the wall of the tunnel that would lead to the training grounds he was scared and more than a little claustrophobic.
