Susannah Has To Open It

The second Susannah pried the heavy book cover open, her eyes rolled back into her head. A trembling started at her fingertips. Steadily it spread up her arm, intensifing all the while. At her shoulder, it changed into a shake, as if an external **** was attempting to wake Susannah from a deep rest. At the base of her neck, it turned into all-out flailing, her fingers contorting into all manner of shapes. And then, suddenly... Susannah froze. A smirk formed on her face as she looked down at the counter, a new spark in her eyes. Chuckling to herself, Susannah snapped her fingers, returning the book to its rightful spot. Helen would be none the wiser, and "Susannah" was completely aware of that. After all, Helen was just how she used to be...

Several Hundred Years Prior

"Damn them! Damn them!!" A woman, her dress little more than shreds below her waist shouted as she frantically tore open the floorboards beneath her. Tears were in her eyes. The bottoms of her feet were little more than blisters, covered in the grime that built up from the days-long sprint from her pursuers. "Where?! It's calling out! It should-"

"Wh-Who are you?!" A voice shakily asked. The source was another woman, her eyes wide as she cowered in the corner of her home, terrified of the intruder. "What are you-"

"Quiet down or lose your life!" The first woman ordered, snickering as her calloused hands touched the relic she'd buried over a century prior. "You're not doing well, are you?" She asked, licking her lips as she pulled the book, undamaged after all that time, from its earthy prison.

"What? How did-"

"That's not important." The first woman interrupted, feeling the color fade from her sight as her mind became clouded. "All you need to know is that I've a rather large bounty on my head. Safeguard this book. That is all I ask."

"O-Okay..." The terrified woman muttered, nodding her head furiously as the intruder flashed a smile. Screaming, the woman watched in horror as her door burst open, no less than ten or perhaps even twenty armed men burst in, a smirk on the strange woman holding the book as she slumped to the floor with a thud...

Present Day

"I must say, I never expected it to take this long for a suitable body to find my ark." "Susannah" muttered as she stared at her new visage in the bathroom mirror. "Shame my daughter wasn't suitable, her man had quite the package on him. Emphasis on had." She chuckled, moaning as her new body adjusted to the magic she was pouring into it. Licking her lips, "Susannah" watched as her body firmed up, her body turning back time as her hair grew down her back, gaining new curls as it's color shifted to a deep, wine red. "How's it feel to be young again? Helen has nothing on my body, eh Susannah?" Giggling to herself at the quiet affirmative grunt in the back of her head, the reborn witch left the pub, on the hunt for what she'd missed out on as a soul trapped within the book for so long...
