Surely Faith-in-Joyce's day can't get any worse, right?

"Oh, no!" exclaimed Faith-in-Joyce. "You got it all wrong. I'm not a vampire. I'm a vampire slayer. I kill vampires for a living. I'm just stuck in this body because of a body swap spell."

"Likely story," said the man named Blade as he slowly advanced toward Faith-in-Joyce and pointed his long sharp sword in her direction.

"But it's true," said Faith-in-Joyce, slowly backing up and looking like hell for an unblocked exit. "My name is Faith Lehane."

"I thought your name was Joyce Lehane," said Kathryn.

"Well, it's really Faith Lehane," said Faith-in-Joyce. "I swear on my mother's grave."

"Your story keeps changing," said the man called Blade. "Why is that?"

"Because I'm a fugitive from justice," said Faith-in-Joyce. "I once killed a man. Okay, I killed more than one man and I'm wanted for ****. Would I admit to all that if it wasn't true?"

"Why haven't I heard of you?" asked Blade.

"How should I know?" asked Faith-in-Joyce. "But I really am Faith Lehane and I am most definitely not a vampire."

"That's okay," said a voice from a nearby table. "We believe you."

"You believe me?" asked Faith-in-Joyce.

She turned to see who had spoken and saw an armed trio of men dressed in black trench coats and balaclavas sitting at a nearby table that was conveniently located between her and the front entrance.

As Faith-in-Joyce watched with a deepening sense of dread, the oldest of the three stood up and said, "I must admit that this seems to be a rather unusual situation but since you openly admit that you are indeed Faith Lehane, I must confess that we of the Watchers Council have **** but to take you at your word. Granted, I would not have expected you to adopt such a clever disguise but no worries. If you care to come along quietly with us, we'll sort you out. Otherwise, we might as well leave you with your newfound American friends."

"You mean..." Faith-in-Joyce started to say.

"That's right, Ms. Lehane," said the leader of the Watchers Council's operatives. "You are under arrest for being a rogue Slayer. And we have orders to terminate you with **** prejudice if you try to resist arrest."

Oh, fuck, thought Faith-in-Joyce.
