Maeve smiled.

"Thanks" she said. They walked out of the spinning arena doors and hopped into his blue Ford F-150 Raptor. "Maeve, your car." Said Andrew.

"I live across the street, I walked." She said. "Right, I forgot." He said.

His house was only a couple minutes away, but it was snowing, and he didn't want to look like a noob and haul his equipment out in the cold. He looked at his watch. 5:13. The Los Angeles game started soon.

He pulled up onto the driveway, opened the garage, hung his equipment and opened the door. He ushered Maeve in. "Thank you." She said.

He closed the garage door and went inside, locking his car doors. It was a smaller two story house he lived in. He guided her around the house.

They headed upstairs where his brother, mom, and dad were already on the couch watching the pre game show. "Hey." Said Andrew. Everyone looked up.

"Hello Andrew, Maeve." Said Mrs. Carrick.

"Hi, you'll be seeing lots of me cause we're dating." She said. Mr. Carrick chuckled. "I remember my first girlfriend." He said. He said this every time Andrew came home with another girlfriend. "Skylar Draper, went on to star in the hit movie Front Page." He said.

"So... how'd the game go?" Asked Devin, Andrew's 13 year old little brother, who was slightly nerdy, but popular. "We won in OT, and I can't stay for the entire game, because I gotta go to Duncan's at 7 30. He said.

"Thats Ok, we were only gonna watch the first today. Good job." Said devin.

He sat down on the couch.

"Uh..." started Maeve.

"Oh, I'll sit on the floor." Andrew said politely.

"Thanks." Said Maeve. There hadn't been room on the couch for a fifth person.

They watched the first period of a game 4. The first place Dallas Stars against the 7th place LA kings. By the end of the period it was 2-1 kings, with Trent Bloodoff scoring for the Stars.

They left at 6:30, to go to Tim's for a coffee.

They talked, he learned that Maeve liked hockey a lot, but wasn't good at skating. He said he'd teach her and she laughed. He also learned she was a season ticket holder to the Detroit Lions, the football team.

They talked for another 50 minutes, a typical first date, and left for Duncan's place.

When they got there, Will, Luke, Taylor, Evan, Joy, Eric, Kara and Duncan were already having a good time. Will came up to him and asked "beer?" Holding up a can of Kokanee.

He looked back at Maeve, who shook her head no.

But it was Beer! God's second greatest gift to humanity! How could he say no.

But he wanted to look good for Maeve, so...
