Chapter 4 by FlightoftheBeers FlightoftheBeers

Off to Lunch?

Sure. It's just lunch!

We made our way to a cafe nearby. It was relatively quiet and allowed us some privacy. I learned a bit more about Amanda during our lunch. She had graduated from college earlier at the top of her class with a business degree, but felt didn't want an office job. She said she wanted to work with her hands and do something fun, so she began to work on different skills such as carpentry and interior design. Her business model was a bit unconventional, she admitted, but it was something she really wanted to do.

I had to hand it to her; she was extremely brave just diving into things like this. There was no guarantee that her company would take off, but she committed to it fully. That was pretty admirable. I kept finding myself drawn into her as she spoke, my eyes never leaving hers. I soaked up every word she said as if it was essential to living.

"I want to see what your house looks like; that should give me some ideas on the kind of style you like," Amanda said, wiping her mouth off with a napkin.

"Sure," I replied, not even giving it a second thought. It made sense, I think. I paid for our meal and off we were. In the car, she kept talking about how excited she was to work together. Apparently, I was one of her first clients and she would do whatever it took to make sure I was satisfied with her work.

We pulled into the driveway and exited the car. The house was empty, thankfully, but Kendra was the last thing on my mind right now. My only focus was on Amanda.

"Very quaint. Though, I have a feeling this is more your wife's style than yours," she turned back to me with a smile as she motioned to the staircase. "Let's check out the bedroom. Maybe I could get a better glimpse at what you like up there."

Up to the bedroom?
