“Let’s go for it,” you tell him, trying to fight the hestience that wants to creep into your tone. “Hopefully, I can find some clothes tomboyish enough that they will reduce my Girliness stat.” After all, look at your other Tasks. Looking for a better job isn’t likely to make you less of a woman, and you’ve already seen what cooking and cleaning does to you. Of course, there’s one other Task available, but you’re trying not to think about it. No matter how handsome Gerald is.

You both get into his car, and he drives to the nearest big clothing store. It’s not explicitly just for women, but it’s the kind of clothing store that far more women shop at than men. You’re pretty sure that has for more to do with advertising and cultural sexism than anything else, though, because your Girliness stat is pretty high and you still feel weird walking into this place, let alone going clothes shopping at all.

It’s important to get the essentials first. You go to an attendant and ask to be sized for a bra, telling her that you recently lost a lot of weight and don’t know your new size. She’s very accommodating, but as you go into a changing room with her and take off your shirt, you still feel weird about having breasts at all. When she tells you you’re a 32D, you’re surprised to hear that. They look pretty average-sized, and you thought that D-cups were bigger than this!

She patiently explains to you that the cup letter is actually relative to the band size, so judging based on the letter doesn’t really make sense. With that informative lecture in your brain, you put your shirt back on and head back out to meet up with Gerald again, who had been on his phone while you were getting measured.

You look through the bras, and end up just getting two. One sports, one regular, neither with any lace or girly things or push-up whatevers. Then you head to underwear, and buy boyshorts and briefs and anything you can find that aren’t panties or...you shudder at the thought...thongs. Then comes shirts and pants, and you continue your streak of getting the least girly things you can. Proud of what you’ve selected, you decide to go in the changing room and try some of these on before buying them. That is when you realize your plan has a snag.
