Ultra-Humans, sometimes shortened to Ultras are the last Member of The Big Four (The other three being... Mutants, MetaHumans, and Harbingers).

It all began when the remains of a Living Alien Starship crashed on Earth's Largest Moon while it was still molten and forming which left the living vessel trapped for Millions of Years. In Desperation, It began to send out intense bursts of energy to the Earth. The Signals it has sent toward Earth pleading for help over the intervening centuries have had a "Jump-Start" Effect on The Earth's Primitive Inhabitants, causing The Evolution of Organic Life to progress rapidly. When The Ship realized the effect it's signals were having it began actively influencing Human Evolution and in recent times it has been actively trying to create Super-Powered Ultra Beings capable of reaching The Moon in order to repair and protect it, and eventually help it complete its Mission and allow it to share its knowledge of The Universe.

The Jumpstart:

The Jumpstart Effect takes the form of violent thunderstorms that crackle with Blue Lightning.

Jumpstarts are the primary means by which Humans become Super-Powered Ultras. The remains of The Living Ship, simply referred to as "The Entity of The Moon" or simply, "The Entity" consisted mostly of The Craft's "Black Box," a Massive, Sentient Organic Quantum Computer Core. In an effort to return home to its World on one of The Godwheels of The World Farm, The Entity occasionally beamed energies to Earth, "Jumpstarting" The Evolution of Mankind to Speed their Development.

Many Jumpstarts have occurred throughout History. Speculation ran that Jesus, Leonardo da Vinci, and Albert Einstein may have been Ultras.


The First Modern Jumpstart blanketed the San Fernando River Valley, causing a number of Super-Powered Ultras to rise in Los Angeles and the surrounding areas. The First Public Ultras rose from this Jumpstart, with "Hardcase" and "The Squad" becoming local heroes. Others like "Dirt Devil" and "Headknocker" kept to the shadows.

Tom Hawke was a struggling actor working in Hollywood, California whose life was changed after being struck by The "Jumpstart." He gained Superhuman Strength and Durability, and began calling himself "Hardcase." He realized that he wanted more than short term success. He met with Starburst, DJ Blast and Forsa, who had also gained powers. The team decided to help people while bolstering their careers, and together they formed The Squad.

The Squad was active in Los Angeles for several months as Heroes and Celebrities. They Arranged Official Sanction with The Police Department, assisting in raids against local gangs and emergency response. The Squad was woefully unprepared for their first Ultra opponent, the Nano-Mechanized Entity or NM-E. The creature tore through the Squad, dismembering Forsa and seriously injuring Starburst, before DJ sacrificed himself in a massive blast that apparently killed him and the creature. Forsa died at the hospital and Starburst remained in a coma, prompting Hardcase to retire from ultra-heroics until eventually enticed to return by Ultra-Tech as part of a Specialized Task **** to protect The Public from increasing Ultra Attacks.


The Second Modern Jumpstart was The Most Directed and Obvious in History. The Energized Lightning produced by The Jumpstart struck a San Francisco Cable Car. The Mysterious Blue Lightning Bolt imbued each of the street car's 59 passengers with super powers, changing them into Ultras. Soon after realizing their Ultra potential, These newly created Ultras took sides as either Heroes or Villains.

The Ultra-Team known as "The Strangers" as well as The Ultra calling himself "Night Man" were created by this Jumpstart.


The Third and Perhaps Final Modern Jumpstart occurred when The Extraterrestrial Theta Virus was introduced into Earth's Atmosphere as a prelude to Invasion with the aim of eliminating potentially hazardous threats. The Theta Virus targeted Humans with Ultra Potential, causing a Lethal Breakdown of their Cellular Structure and eventually ****. A Scientist by the name of Dr. Rachel Deming found a Cure, using Recombinant Messenger-RNA Sequencing to save the lives of Theta infectees by stabilizing the infection prior to ****. A Side-Effect was that 99% of those people treated by Deming also manifested Ultra Powers. She brought these Ultras together to become "The Exiles."

Not long after a Woman named of Amber Hunt, a Spoiled Valley Girl who unknowingly had Ultra Potential became a victim of The Alien Pathogen. Deming and her competitor Malcolm Kort both targeted Amber for recruitment. Amber was rescued from Kort's henchmen by The Exiles, Ultras working for Deming to prevent Kort's exploitation of Ultras.

Although Amber was brought back to The Exiles base, circumstances prevented Dr. Deming from using The Life-Saving Procedure on Amber immediately. As the other Exiles were busy on missions against Kort, Amber grew restless waiting for her cure and recklessly tried to activate Deming's Machines herself. Her poor decision was made even worse because The Entity of The Moon initiated a "Jumpstart" Flare at the same time, radically augmenting Amber's Latent Powers and the explosion created by the her powers manifesting. At least three Exiles died thanks to Amber's impatience, and three more were seriously injured or left comatose in the aftermath. Amber herself was driven almost completely insane and feral by The Jumpstart. Amber's power levels became unprecedented, and other Future heroes like "Iron Clad" and "Hellblade" received their abilities in The Backwash of This Jumpstart.


The Energies periodically released by The Entity is suspected of creating a Series of Random Pan-Dimensional Gateways connecting numerous Alien Worlds, Parallel Earths and even other Dimensions and Realities to Amalgamated Parallel Earth Reality 36G-23-40. These Gateways act like Windows for Viewing and Doorways for Travel.

Powers and Abilities:

Nanotech-Enhanced Physiology: The "Jumpstart Effect" responsible for creating most Ultras, Effectively converts their bodies into Living Nanotech called "Organites." The Purely Organic Body of the affected individual is essentially destroyed and in the very same instant, They are organically re-assembled from the inside out, starting at the molecular level.

Ultras possess varying degrees of control over their bodies, being able to create, shape and manipulate the programmable micro-organic/mono-molecular organic bio-machines which are semi-sentient, working similarly to their robotic counterparts. These mechanized genetic units are able to physically rewire the biophysical essence of an individual cell-block to improve or damage any organic and inorganic material from the molecular to atomic scale.

Unlike Nanites, which are programmed with their own artificial intelligence. The Organites of Ultras are able to imprint the consciousness of The Ultra they belong to, right down to every natural facility belonging to their host ranging from height, weight, hair color and even memories of who they were for the purpose of recreation later.

Common Ultra-Human Abilities:

Idealized Physique: A Ultra's Physical Abilities are often Enhanced to Superhuman Levels.

  • Ultra Strength: Most Ultras are Incredibly strong, being easily able to throw a car over 50 yards with little effort. Their leg muscles allow them to leap miles at a time.
  • Superhuman Speed: Many Ultras are capable of running and moving at speeds much greater than even The Finest Human Athlete.
  • Superhuman Stamina: An Ultra's musculature generates far less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of an ordinary human being. It is not uncommon for an Ultra to be able to physically exert themselves at peak capacity for several hours before fatigue begins to impair their performance.
  • Superhuman Agility: Nearly all Ultras exhibit some level of Heightened Agility, Balance, and Bodily Coordination and are often enhanced to levels that are Beyond The Natural Physical Limits of even The Finest Human Athlete..
  • Superhuman Reflexes: An Ultra's Reaction Time is often similarly enhanced, enabling them to react at a level that is Beyond The Natural Physical Limits of The Finest Human Athlete..
  • Superhuman Durability: Also a common ability among Ultras, especially those who also possess Ultra Strength, giving them bodily tissues that are much harder and more resistant to injury than those of a typical Human. An Ultra's Durability most commonly extends to withstanding tremendous impact forces, falls from great heights, exposure to temperature and pressure extremes, the vacuum of space, and powerful energy blasts without sustaining injury. Those with Superhuman Speed are also specially adapted to withstand the physiologically debilitating effects of moving and running at high rates of speed without sustaining injury.
  • Regenerative Healing Factor: Being comprised of Biological Nanotech, Ultra's possess a Regenerative Healing Factor that makes them extremely difficult to kill or incapacitate, allowing them to regenerate most (if not all) damaged or destroyed tissues and organs at a rate which exceeds that of any Normal Human. The rate of regeneration is proportional to the damage caused But Ultras with a Tremendous Regenerative Ability can regenerate from what would normally be considered life-threatening wounds in a matter of seconds. Their Advanced Healing Ability also affords them a virtual immunity to poisons, viruses, diseases, and most ****. They can be affected by **** but the entire cycle of intoxication and hangover can be completed in mere minutes. In addition, This Healing Factor provides Them with an extended lifespan by slowing the effects of the aging process; retaining the health, appearance and physical vitality of a person in their physical prime even after living for hundreds of years.
  • Self-Sustenance: Another facet of Ultra Physiology which can make them extremely difficult to deal with. Many Ultras are not subject to pain or disease and/or do not require the nourishment of sleep, nutrition, hydration, or oxygen.
  • Limb Transformation: Those with sufficient control and discipline can exert a varying degree of control over The Metamorphic Nanoplasm that makes up their physical form which can be changed into almost any shape they can imagine and most commonly change their forearms into weapons that fire hardened Nanoplasmic projectiles formed from their own Biomatter.
  • Diverse Nanotech Manipulation: An Ultra's Abilities are potentially unlimited and with the development of their control of The Nanotech that makes up their body they can display a truly frightening array of abilities ranging from controlling other sources of Nanotech and mentally merging with technology to creating life or traveling through time, etc.
  • Total Body Control: Being that every Cell in their body is a Living, Thinking Bio-Machine, able to independently move and reorganize themselves individually or in large groups. Mental control of every cell makes Ultra's with this kind of Mastery over themselves virtually immortal and capable of shape-shifting, invulnerability, or hyper-regeneration.
  • Creation: Though Rare, Some Ultra's can absorb raw materials, shape them at an Atomic Level, and then release them again. This allows them to create organic technology within their bodies and then separate from it, maintaining a mental connection to their creations from a distance.
