Sunday morning run

You rise refreshed on Sunday morning. You head over to the dining hall and wolf down a quick breakfast alone, and then head over to the track, intending to get a good couple miles in. The field is mostly empty this early in the day with only a few runners out. You stretch out for a minute on the side, when you see two blonde figures dashing down the track.

“Katie, Khloe, great to see you!” you say, waving to them.

“Join us on our run!” Katie calls out to you, waving back.

You run down the grass and on to the track, keeping pace behind the twins. You sneak a peek at their tight bums as they run, looking away just in time as Khloe glances over her shoulder.

“Finally found the time to join us?” she asks.

“I didn’t know there was an open offer,” you say, catching up to them with a couple hard pumps of your legs.

“We texted you and you ghosted us,” Katie says. “It’s not every day that a guy does that to us.”

“You did get our messages, right?” Khloe asks.

“What? You two texted me?” you ask, stunned. “No way, I never got anything!”

“That’s seriously weird,” Katie says, pulling her phone out of her armband. She taps it a couple times. “Yeah, I sent you somethin’ for sure.”

“Can I take a look?” Khloe asks, holding out her hand.

Katie passes the phone over to her like runners in a relay race. Both the girls somehow are able to use a phone while running at full speed, which you find oddly neat. It’s not long before Khloe reads off a phone number from the screen.

“Is that your number?” Khloe asks.

“Shit, you’re off by a digit,” you say. “That two should be a six.”

“Damn, and here I thought you were really leaving us out to dry,” Katie laughs, taking back her phone from Khole.

“I would never!” you protest. “Not with you two, anyways. What kind of guy would be stupid enough to ignore you both?”

“Hang on, why does my phone have the exact same typo?” Khloe asks, checking her phone as the three of you round a bend in the track.

“Oh, don’t tell me we both misheard Valentine,” Katie groans.

“A two and a six don’t sound alike,” you say, frowning.

“No chance we both hit a two instead of a six either,” Katie says. “They’re not close on the keyboard!”

“You think Val might have done it intentionally?” Khloe asks, eyes darting between the two of you.

“But why would she?” you ask her.

The twins share a look, suggesting something going on that you’re not following. If only you could tap in to their twin telepathy.

“You haven’t noticed anything off with Mars?” Khloe asks you.

“Wait, I thought we were talking about Val,” you say, starting to get really confused by this conversation.

It doesn’t help that you’re all running at a hard pace, and a good chunk of your attention is focused on your breathing and simply putting one foot in front of the other. How is a man supposed to think under such circumstances?

“Nevermind, this just makes things extra interesting,” Katie says, giving you a cool smile that makes you suddenly think of all kinds of lewd things.

“Yes, the three of us are going to have some fun, aren’t we?” Khloe says, mirroring the smile on Katie’s face.

Oh boy. This is their maneater smile, and you realize just how much of a weakness you have for it.

“If he can keep up with us,” Katie laughs, accelerating across the track.

The twins pull ahead of you, and you struggle to match their pace, giving it your all as you attempt to stick with them.

It ends up being a great workout.
